Food was OK. Were not in to the masacare theme. Life is precious don't celebrate death and murder.

Fun visit to historic filming location, now including surprisingly great themed cocktails and menu. Loved the dog will hunt on their spacious covered porch.

We have been here several times for breakfast and it was always great. This time we had lunch and they didn’t disappoint. Chicken fried steak. Turkey club. Sweet potato hash.

Our family had a great time enjoying our food. The server was great and we got our food right away. Enjoyed the F1 race on TV at the bar area and all the pictures from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I had the migas tacos, my husband had steak and eggs, my kids had pancakes and french toast.

I’ve been here literally dozens of times. We come here every weekend during the summer. Excellent food every time. Well-made drinks as well. Full bar and friendly service. My go-to dishes are the Traditional Eggs Benedict and the Grilled Chicken Sandwich, but I haven’t had a dish I don’t like.I want to give a special thanks to the staff who had to endure the moronic family that sat next to us during a recent visit, who said things like “oh no he’s allergic to spices”, and when asked if she wanted grits, oatmeal, or fruit, the wife said “I don’t like grits.” I felt personally insulted by this idiocy happening 6 feet from me, and witnessing this gives me a great new respect for the staff who have to put up with that and not kick them in the face. I almost did it for them. The staff here always smile!

The food was okay. It's the only restaurant near the Anteler Inn for breakfast so I can't complain too much. We ate dinner their the night before because we couldn't get into the fancy steakhouse on the other side of the property. Dinner was okay, too. The servers were all very nice. I'm snobby about restaurant silverware. They had poor quality cutlery for the prices they charge. Why don't restaurants go to Goodwill and get nice cutlery? Or buy decent knives, forks, and spoons. Is it that expensive to have nice utensils to eat with??

Drove almost 2 hours from San Antonio to dine at the house from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie. The food was delicious, the servers were friendly, but there were two issues. 1. Aside from some still photos hanging on the wall, there was no emphasis, information, or palpable enthusiasm for the main reason why anyone would visit a restaurant in the middle of nowhere.....its connection to the 1974 classic horror film, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. We inquired about the house, the staff barely bothered to reply that it was, in fact, the house from the movie. No other information was offered. Nothing. No tour. No background information on how the house was selected. Nothing. How did this house come to be a restaurant? Nothing. 2. Reviewed the menu and asked about the chicken fried steak and mac-n-cheese. The staff assured us portions were large and delicious. We decided to order the Chicken Fried steak (comes with mashed potatoes), along with mac-n-cheese but were told "entrees" were not available until 4 PM (we arrived at 2 PM). Interestingly, the staff mentioned we could order the Chicken Fried Steak & Eggs breakfast instead as that was still available. Indeed, more interesting was the fact that the sides....you guessed it.....mashed potatoes and mac-n-cheese were also available to be served (available after noon). So the individual items from our original order (chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, mac-n-cheese) were available and could all be served, but only if they were also served with eggs and a biscuit??!!?? Settled for a fried chicken sandwich along with fries and mac-n-cheese. Food was delicious but the lack of emphasis on the historic setting and the inability to overcome the basic math of the 'entree' dilemma pretty much soured the experience. Not worth the drive.
