Shout out to Riley he is the 1 making superb pit bbq. My husband and myself just ate there for dinner yesterday. A warm and family welcoming is what you will receive when you arrive. Riley is always smiling. Matter of fact he and his staff are Friendly, positive, and all smiles and always making sure everything you are eating is of your approval and that you are content. We chose to dine in for our first trip. Something we will return for soon indeed! It is like being at your home away from home. Just the atmosphere and the Delicious Ample food served along with all of the many different options of their tasty sides. That sweet tea was perfectly sweetened. The brisket was scrumptious as was their bbq sauce. The potato salad is my newly favorite (besides my own) and had my taste buds curious as to all the love and ingredients put into it. My apologies for no pictures, my husband and I believe in no cell phones at the dinner table. I left with a food baby in my tummy lol (inside joke) I am not pregnant just a certain something said when the food is more than superior and the belly is perfectly satisfied; Thank you again Riley enjoyed the conversation, appreciate you taking the time out of your day to come to our table while we were there, not many places anymore one can go and speak to the pit master and creator. Absolutely worth the money and time to go visit this place, I kept hearing all of the BBQ joints in Lockhart and once I was told to try this out, it lived up to the hype. Can’t wait to to visit again someday when I’m in the area

We ordered 2 loaded potatoe plates. The Pork Ribs were overcooked, burnt & dry.... but the Brisket was good.
Baked Potatoes & Pinto beans were not fully cooked and hard.
I was Expecting some great food after seeing all the amazing reviews, but instead got poor overcooked/undercooked food.
I'm assuming they were in a hurry and just gave us whatever leftovers they had since they were closing. We got there at 6:44. The bbq place showed open till 8pm but were already cleaning

The ribs and brisket are pretty freaking good. As any Texan knows the sides at a BBQ restaurant are not important, but the okra was good and the cucumber salad was definitely edible.. Did I mention the ribs?? Yeah they were tasty.. That sauce though...Yummy. But what really makes me smile about Riley's is the man himself. The proprietor of this business is super friendly and has never met a stranger. He pulled up a chair and we chatted about the area and all kinds of stuff like old friends. His wife is also super friendly and helpful. They made their rounds greeting folks and making sure everyone was enjoying their 4th of July. Reminds me of most of my family gatherings minus the awkward silences and random stories about cousins I haven't seen or thought of in years. Anyway if you want some Lockhart BBQ but don't want to keep going to the same old places give Riley's a go, rumor has it he cooked with Floyd over at Chisholm trail, I tend to believe it cause the meat speaks for itself.
Vegetarian options: They have plenty of sides if you don't eat meat. But it's kind of like going to a hookah lounge and crying about smoke. I don't suggest going to a BBQ resturant to look for great vegetables ..
Parking: The parking is alright here because the other businesses that share the lot are not bustling with much activity ever. But the place is in a weird location so if you don't look for it you'll miss it. It's where the old "kuntry kitchen" used to nñdi
Kid-friendliness: I don't think they are unfriendly to kids. I didn't see any boogery high chairs or any play place but I didn't see any "kids should be on a leash at all times" signs either so it is probably safe to enter with children.
Riley's Bar BQ is by far the best bar bq we have ever had. If u have never been there, ur missing out. Try Riley's Bar BQ this summer and find ur new spot for family and friends.
