Wasn't the best food nor the service I've had here but it is good enough for another try.

If you’re anywhere near Lake Jackson, Great Taste Restaurant is an absolute gem worth checking out! They’ve been serving the Brazosport community for 16 years and you can feel the heart behind everything they do.

What started as a cozy wine bistro has grown into a full-service restaurant offering steaks, seafood, pasta, tapas, wraps, burgers—you name it. The atmosphere is intimate, with just 18 tables, so be sure to make a reservation (especially for dinner!).

The happy hour from 2–5 p.m. daily is amazing: $5 tapas and half-priced wine flights. Plus, they run unique specials every night—BOGO half-off tapas on Mondays, steak night Tuesdays, cheese night Wednesdays, $5 wine Thursdays, and $2 mimosas with high-end wine flights on Saturdays.

Whether you’re popping in for lunch or planning a date night, it’s one of Lake Jackson’s best-kept secrets. Highly recommend!

My 1 star review is based solely on the service we received from Brandon. He was not attentive in the slightest. It took a long time for him to greet us once we got to the table. He finally came to see us and took our order. We had our food before we had our bottle of wine. He says he forgot to ring it in. If this was our only issue with him we would have let it go. But sadly this was just the beginning. He clearly has zero interest in working here. At the end of our meal we asked for a box and the dessert menu. We had wanted to try the cheesecake and the chocolate pie. Guess what? He never came back with the dessert menu. After waiting a long time we flagged him down to ask for the receipt. The attitude from him was intense. When we asked for the manager he told us no one was available and he told us to ‘have a good night’ as he walked away. Brandon is not server material. We would have purchased more drinks and dessert, however we’re not able to.

We came to this restaurant on the recommendation of a client of ours and are beyond disappointed. The food was good, the atmosphere was nice, but Brandon ruined it for us. Jordan tried his best to make things right (he is a good server) but we were just done.

Leaving bad reviews is not my style, but our experience tonight was ridiculous. We spent good money tonight and wish we had gone to Jack in the Box instead.

Grape Taste has a sophisticated atmosphere — dim lighting, sleek décor, and the kind of ambiance that makes you think you're in for something special. Unfortunately, the service and food didn’t get the memo.

Our waitress never greeted us, and didn’t acknowledge Mother’s Day weekend until we were heading out the door.

The food? Adequate at best. The “filet” was actually a chewy sirloin with more fat than flavor — a real culinary bait-and-switch.

With a name like Grape Taste, I was expecting something rich and refined. Far from Grape taste, and even further from Grape service.

This place has such a cute, cozy wine bar vibe—definitely a great spot for a date. The service was really good, and the food was excellent.

I wasn’t a big fan of the bread pudding, but honestly, everything else was so amazing that it didn’t even matter. We'd definitely go back!

The food here is superb! My husband and I shared the Meatbals al Forno tapas plate for an appetizer. He then had a12 oz Ribeye with asparagus and grilled zucchini/yellow squash plus red wine. I had the Flounder Ala Queso over wild rice with shrimp, scallops, and queso, plus a flight of sweet white wine. For dessert, he had Salted Caramel Cheesecake, and I has Tres Leches Strawberry Sponge cake with Whipped cream and fresh Strawberries.
Everything was scrumptious and more than enough to eat!
The service by the staff was excellent, and it is a lovely quiet restaurant so one can hear their dining partner without having to shout.

We've enjoyed The Grape Taste for many years. I did not know until recently just how accommodating and flexible they are with regard to dietary issues. Our server was extremely knowledgeable. There was no hesitancy on her part in understanding our needs. The chef is very accomplished and had no trouble meeting our requests. We were blown away by the level of service and quality of the food.

Small town wine bar with an adorable atmosphere, interesting wines you don't always find in a small town, and great pasta! The people who work there are so sweet. It's a Texas take on Italian but worth every penny! And it's really inexpensive.

The food is amazing with a wide variety and not the ordinary plates either. I had a chicken sandwich with fried green tomatoes on it with cheese. So yum! They offer wine flights and delicious charcuterie boards.

Ordered through Doordash. I ordered chicken parm, calamari, side salad. 1st missing dressing for salad and didn't follow instructions specified through the selections on DD. The calamari is in wide pieces, like rubber and smelled really fishy. Chicken parm was way overpriced, noodles were way over done and chicken was fried like a brick. This is not "upscale" food as described. It is at most frozen food reheated or fried. Omg the fishy smell from the calamari is so bad. Never again.
