The food wasn't the best to be honest. The mashed potatoes were very sour. The sweet potatoes were good. The chicken was ok but needed a bit more seasoning. The corn bread was horrible. Not sure how you mess up corn bread. The inside of the restaurant is nice. Long story short, I won't be back.

Sensibly decorated, service was very pleasant and came out in a reasonable time. Prices were good for the portion sizes (I got 2 nicely sized pork chops) and they were the best pork chops I have ever had (nicely grilled, crisped). My friend who knows soul food had the beef tips on rice and said the food was better than most soul food restaurants in the area and reminded her of home. We had the salad, green beans, and tetrazzini casserole sides and can definitely recommend those as well.

My first time trying this place i had the catfish, chilli beans,Yams and cornbread. Everything was ok that day. So I decided to try them again.. The tetrazzini was like biting into a block of velvetta with noodles in it. Too much cheese! . Hardly no meat. And I found the boiled skin from the chicken inside.. The cornbread was the same, dry and crumbly. I also had a side of baked spaghetti. It was just ok.I spent 18 dollars, and I was hungry so I ate everything but left most of the tetrazzini. I just couldn't..

This place reminds me of what my grandmother and great aunts cook. When I tell you the food is flavorful and the portions were just right for me! ?? I had the chicken and dumplings, beef tips and rice along with greens (yum!), cornbread and peach cobbler. I no longer have to drive outside of cedar hill for authentic soul food. The staff was SUPER nice and welcoming! Feels like family!

The fried chicken was well sessoned, and the wings were a great size and definitely worth it. Although I had to wait a few minutes for my meal, it was worth it. If you get a to go order make sure they get your name.Cons sides are $4 and are rather small, parking lot is small, be prepared to grab space on the side or down the way.Pro: Delicious food, great service!!

I walked in and I wasn't greeted. There was a young lady sitting on a stool behind the counter. There wasn't a welcome from her or suggestions from the menu. (It was my first time)I ordered beef tips and mac & cheese and she said that they were out. I then asked her to just tell me what they have and I'll order from that.I ended up with meatloaf, yams, and bland cabbage. Overall, customer service sucked for the price and the jury is still out on the food.Not recommending the meatloaf though. Definitely ain't yo momma's!
This is my burned food. You could smell it coming from the bag. Don’t know why it was served to me. I was supposed to get a refund but the manager lied and never refunded my money! I had such high hopes of my black owned business but never again.

I ordered chicken and dressing 2 cups sweet potatoes side. Floor is sticky when walking in. Leg and thigh can fit in palm of my hand. Seasoning was salt and pepper on chicken, sweet potatoes taste like pancake syrup in it. I want my money back. It tasted plain no herb seasonings brown sugar nutmeg..COME ON PEOPLE..

Food is a little pricey, but you get what you pay for is the saying. I've picked a hand full of their menu and have enjoyed every bit of it so far. I especially love their chicken tetrazzini with some mac and chesse or the cabbage. Their chicken fried steak was okay. Also for those with a sweet tooth after lunch or dinner they have delicious cakes. Customer service is great and sometimes there is a wait time, but it's worth it. Good food comes at a price. Hits the spot every time.

First off the young man earl was an amazing host. A young man that was great at listening and very confident and knowledgeable. Second the smell reminded me of my grand ma house when she cooking. I miss her so much felt like a family vibe. Back to earl he helped us order and answered all of our questions the price is reasonable should charge so much more for that love that was placed on our plates.We enjoyed the whole experience and will be back and will bring other people. Earl thank you for your service young man and what ever you do don't change keep that same energy you had impressed me and my wife with your customer service. Never been here a day in my life and already thinking when are we coming back!
