This morning I was hungry and I'm the kind of guy I love to speak to strangers been doing since I was a child! But as I poured my self some coffee i smelled it and obvious their using laredo water without boiling it to take out the odor! But I guess hot coffee is safe but the tacos ok service is OK and what do you their as inexpensive as possible God Bless yall.

Should have been a home run. Small little shop connected to a tire shop. Double burger with cheese, ham, bacon and avocado and a side fries for $9.00?!?!? And a whole jalapeño on the side.Buy these patties for the burger were not good by any definition. They have the taste and consistency of cafeteria burgers. I will have to come back and try some tacos or other items, but the burgers should be amazing and they are far from it.

Look, I don't live in Laredo anymore. But when we went down to visit, the one thing that was non-negotiable was visiting Chalu. I didn't even visit my grandfather , ok? Get the ternera burger, and you might forget about your family too. ?My dad had the menudo, and the bit of broth i tried was excellent. Great service as well.
I wish I could say better things about this restaurant but I can't. I went to have breakfast there and who I am assuming is the manager was yelling and putting down her employee right in front of the customers. not a good look. and she was being very rude and I felt bad for the employee. I would not eat somewhere where the manager and their employees are clearly not happy.

I remember stopping by this place once or twice as a kid, but you can say this was my first time here since. I know some die-hard fans of this local treasure may not like that I wasn't too impressed with their tacos, but I did really enjoy their menudo. My wines a la Mexicana with cachetada of frijoles was a bit skimpy as well as the barbacoa. Tortillas were not as fresh as I had read about in other reviews . The star of the show was the flavorful menudo! I'd like to come back just for the wonderful service. From the lady at the counter and the old school ambiance, and give some other items a try.

Wouldn’t have even noticed this little hole in the wall. Lots of customers . Homemade tortillas and wish i had time to taste more things. Inexpensive and so good. Great mollejas, desebrada, ternera tacos….mmmm
