La Cocina de Pilar - Restaurante Mexicano offers incredibly delicious homemade food. The Tortillas de maiz are a must-try, and the Enchiladas suizas come in a generous portion, served with rice and beans. The Pambazo is a house specialty not to be missed. A family of four recently enjoyed Milanesa Empanizada Pollo, Plato Tlacoyos, Tacos Brisket, and kid's chicken nuggets, all of which were wonderful and left them with leftovers to go. The ambiance is homely and clean, though the space is small with about five or six tables, making it a bit noisy. The service is top-notch, and the pressed chicharron gorditas with beans and cheese are highly recommended. The natural Jamaica water and refreshing aguas frescas add to the experience. Overall, it is a solid choice for a quick bite or lunch with affordable prices, and the parking, while tricky for larger cars, is manageable for decent drivers.
