Before meeting Jesus at The Hermit Café, I had no idea there was a difference between commercial and specialty coffee. Through my continuous visits and conversations with him, my knowledge and appreciation for coffee have grown tremendously. Jesus doesn’t just sell coffee—he provides an experience. This was a fantastic experience. Jesus gave us a lecture on the entire process fo coffee making, with a focus on Colombian coffee. He taught us how to cup so that we could compare different beans, roasts, and wash processes. I make coffee with hand pour, and he had some great pointers as well. Jesus made me look good: I had a friend visiting from Japan who loves coffee, and this was the perfect thing to take him to do. If you want to learn more about it and you're in Laredo, definitely get in touch with him.
Oh, and it helps that his beans make great coffee. I recommend the Hermit Blend 2.0 and The Natural, but if you're fortunate enough to do a cupping with him, you can find something that fits your tastes. Thanks again!

The perfect cup of coffee exists with The Hermits roasted beans! So far my favorite has to be Black Honey. When I bought some beans, I made 3 cups of coffee in a day!! I didn't even need the energy, it was the flavor that I loved. Highly recommend to visit.
