This weekend, I was thrilled to attend the Tack Room's soft reopening and get a sneak peek at their new menu. Thanks to Karina and Ruben for inviting me. The food and cocktails were incredible! Special shoutout to Brandyn, Anisse, Monico, Lyndsey, and the entire staff for making it a fantastic experience. The Tack Room is tentative to reopen this coming Friday, don’t miss the Slow & Low Short Rib - that alone is worth the trip! Mucho exito!

They gave me a half inch thick $40 steak, in a styrofoam container that I can’t cut it in. Even the cheaper restaurant here served my to go meal on a plate last night, but spend almost $80 and no plate. The rest looks okay, just lack luster for what I spent here. Next time I’ll stick to the $20 Kobe cheeseburger, which is all you should spend here. Just tried that $40 steak I had cooked medium rare, chewy trash. Don’t waste your money, unless you just like to waste money.

Well, here it goes. The bread and the service from the waitress (Amber) were the best part of the meal.
I ordered the “Special” 14-16oz New York strip medium rare Pittsburgh!
What I got was an over cook not Pittsburgh breakfast stake 10oz (Flavorless) that could be served at Denny’s for the steak and eggs plate.
It comes on a vegetable medley (over cooked and rubbery) in addition, the mushrooms are packaged precut/sliced and way over cooked.
I hate to say it but I have had a better steak at Logan’s here in Laredo.
This could be a great place if they had a chef that trained his/her folks how to cook the items on the menu.

I wanted this restaurant to be good. Unfortunately, my T-Bone was thin and way over cooked. I ordered medium rare and got well done. Did I send it back? No, I was starving. Lots of tough chewing. Our waitress was really nice though and kept telling us our food would be right out, three times.
Staff is very polite professional and courteous. Food is rich for flavor. And prepared with care. Presentation is everything. CheesecakeWhat it lacks in size makes up with flavor highly recommend

The first floor of the restaurant smelled terrible. We moved the second floor, We asked for the wine list. They only had wines from California, We refuse to buy any products from California including their wine. This left us with no wine to chose from, Then we ordered the prime rib which was advertised on line and on their menu as the Thursday special. We we told they did not make the prime rib that day. We left.
The food was very good. It was cooked and presented well. Timing was never an issue. The table had loaded potato chowder, The Churrasco which was a butterflied Angus Tenderloin., Fried Shrimp and a loaded baked potato which was actually loaded and steaming hot. The service was attentive. I don't hesitate to recommend The Tack Room.

Food was good, but service was very slow. In a sketchy part of town with nowhere to park. My guess it's used as a hotel bar/restaurant.

Wow! A complete waste of our dining experience. With all due respect, this place needs a total revamp on how to operate. Good luck!

This was the worst restaurant experience I’ve had in ages. We made a reservation, but no-one greeted us. We walked upstairs, back downstairs, back upstairs and just sat at a table. The server eventually got to us with waters and menus, but no wine list. She is in the wrong job: no hospitality, no knowledge, no friendliness. She eventually got back to take our order - she’d be fine in a diner. She slipped a glass of white wine down for me when I’d asked for a cab sauv. She then gave me the glass in her other hand which may or may not have been what I ordered. The food came 35 minutes after we ordered - there were four other active tables in the restaurant. My medium-rare had no red, no taste, and was lukewarm. The vegetables were overcooked and cool. The baked potato was chunky and cool - the butter never even melted. The server didn’t care when I pointed this out and despite managerial- looking people around, no-one said anything. I get better service, better flavour, and hotter food at Whataburger.
