Aw Shucks turned out to be a delightful surprise in my seafood dining repertoire. Although not my usual haunt for seafood delight, I'm thoroughly grateful for the visit. It was my first time at this location, and it won't be my last. We kicked out the afternoon with some margaritas. The cocktails were a perfect blend of sweet spicy and visually vibrant. Thanks to the chamoy and Tajin. As for starters, the shrimp cocktail was a generous affair and brimming with shrimp. The oysters, a dozen of them or a testament to good cleaning, sparing us the displeasure of grit with each slurp. But the real revelation came in the form of the catfish po-boy. I'm still puzzled about the sauce that was on the sandwich, but my tastebuds were too busy reveling in the experience to dwell on the details. Nestled between soft bread and perfectly cooked catfish, exuding a freshness that could only come from good ingredients. The sandwich was a delight of flavors, enhanced by the array of fixings. It's not an exaggeration to say it's one of the best po-boys I've tasted in the area. If I find myself back at Aw Shucks- and I know I will- it will undoubtedly be for this sandwich. It came with fries and hush puppies. They were a nice touch, but but make no mistake. The sandwich was the undisputed star of the show.

Their service is no very good, Their food not that good either, and the portions are very small compared to what they where some years ago. Total disappointment on the last 4 times that I had been there. I not going back and definitely I don't recommend it, they dropped the ball big time.

Was in DFW for a wedding. This spot was right next to my hotel. I was pleasantly surprised to find this gem in North TX. Aw Shucks has tastier fare than plenty of seafood shacks I've had on the Gulf Coast! Over 2 visits, I had their shrimp po boy, half dozen raw oysters, side salad, shrimp cocktail, clam chowder, and blackened catfish.The fry on the po-boy was light, crisp, and not too greasy. The oysters were perfectly briney and clean. They have a custom condiments bar where you can mix your own sauce to taste. Side salad had quality greens and a ripe piece of avocado, which was a nice balance to the other rich food I was eating.The shrimp cocktail is generous. It is served in a beer mug that was literally overflowing with shrimp dusted in seasoning. You can adjust the heat level of the appetizer, and the sauce had the freshness of a gazpacho. The chowder was nice and fairly light. The amount of potatoes gave the soup some starch, and thickened the broth without having to over-rely on heavy cream. The blackened catfish was perfectly crisp and flaky.Staff was very friendly. Jackson was the cashier, and he answered my menu questions quickly and clearly. The other staff who checked in on me were also nice. Fun beach side music playlist made the whole experience feel like a mini gulf-coast vacation.

We had not eaten here in quite a while, but we went for the crawfish. It was a little vinegary, but all in all it was GREAT. (We did spicy garlic) I also ordered blackened catfish, and hubby got fried shrimp and catfish. We both enjoyed our meals.

Outstanding! We need one of these in Canyon Lake California! Service was great, food even better! Crawfish, Oysters, Fish and Chips, Grilled Tilapia, Hush puppies, Corn all good , served fresh and Hot. Highly recommend it!
My lady and I stopped by for dinner. I ordered the 3 piece catfish filets, fries, no slaw, extra hush puppies. My lady ordered the shrimp, fries, no slaw extra hush puppies. We both agreed the fish and the shrimp were unseasoned. I thought the fries were the best part of the meal. We both agreed they gave us good portions. I didn’t really like the structure. You order at the front desk and then you seat yourself anywhere. Also, there was a bad smell near the front desk while we were waiting in line to order. (I don’t know if that was the smell in the building, or if someone forgot to fully wipe before coming here) They call you to pick your order up from the pick-up counter. We sat at a booth, but the area felt crowded at times as people were entering and leaving our area.Overall, I’ll give it a 2
2-10-2024 - We are very thankful this location is close by, so much so that we have dined at this location twice in February. The one near us closed a while ago. Both times we had delicious food and great service. The parking lot looks full but once inside there is plenty of room, the have two large dining rooms plus an outdoor patio. Both times the back dining area is cold. The grilled fish tacos are perfect, we had the same meal both times. Three tacos with perfectly grilled pieces of fish. The corn tortilla and the fish both had a great crisp and crunch. The meal comes with rice but we sub grilled veggies instead of the rice. The grilled veggies are a mix of broccoli, squash, zucchini, bell pepper & onions, so colorful, grilled and seasoned well. I believe the tacos are supposed to come with avocado slices, not sure though because the slices were on the tacos the first time but not the second visit. I didn't realize it until I looked back at my pictures while writing this review. The hush puppies are crispy and delicious they have tiny pieces of jalapeño pieces in the mix so it may have a kick for some. The steak fries are good, crispy & cooked through not mushy, the order is served with a side of very good ranch. Fountain diet Dr Pepper served here! Looking forward to coming back and bringing family.

Food was amazing (update I have food poisoning now so disregard the one attempt I made to shed a little positive light on this place) .. the service was awful ...you walk into to a classic seafood restaurant atmosphere then get treated like it's McDonald's...they have waitresses bit you still order at the registers...get up to get your drink refills and have to make your own sauces ...like literally make them ...like mix the ingredients....which would be fine if they didnt awkwardly stair you down when you pay to see if you over ride there 18-22% mandatory tipping....so basically you over tip for basically doing your own work . Not to mention not one waitress even bothered to check on us ...why do they even have them .
