This is one of the only places that I will give a 5 star review (honestly people, slow down on the 5's....). The food is served buffet style and is reminiscent of my family's food growing up. This is the real deal if you love southern cuisine or soul food! The ox tail is ALWAYS on point! The fried pork chops are a staple and the squash! If you see the squash on the steam table, get it. Do yourself a favor and drive out to the country and get you some of this love. If you leave here hungry, it's your fault. Don't bring your finest clothes. Don't worry about your high heels. Bring an appetite and an open mind and enjoy this cultural icon. It just doesn't get any better than this!

Establishment with good service, well-prepared food, but investment is needed in improving the environment and infrastructure to elevate the category of family restaurant. On the other hand, the service is good and so is the attention.

This place is over price !!! Food isn’t that good!!! Only thing that this place have going for them is oxtail& fried chop!!! Their steam table don’t have a big variety of food to choose from on Sunday for24.99 plates !! Also they don’t refill the steam table with items on the steam table frequently like they suppose to!!! Corn bread was dry and cake dessert was too!! This not a good place to take your family on a Sunday at church!! I will not recommend anyone to this place!!! Not a friend atmosphere to eat at!! Overall this place is overrated to be a 4 star place to eat!!! Don’t let old pics fooled you!!!

I always have to make an absolute glutton of myself here, LOL.Everything I have tried so far has been fantastic! But my absolute favorite thing is you can see by the photo is the roasted chicken.Along with that is a fried pork chop, some cornbread with a little bit of meatloaf, some green beans, mashed potatoes with gravy, and some carrots.Definitely proud to say I'm hooked:)

We just happened upon this little hole in the wall restaurant, while on a road trip, and looked it up and it had great reviews and 4.5 stars so we turned around and ate lunch there. It was very good. Homemade fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, fresh cooked cabbage, pinto beans + other home cooked food. We will definitely be back.

Always great food and service. The owner suggested I try the squash casserole and while I'm not a fan of either squash or casseroles, I have to admit her it was very good! We always go for the pork chops and oxtails and we are never disappointed. If you are looking for down home soul food, this is the spot!

I ate at Cookie's for the first time yesterday afternoon. They have the best salmon croquettes. I wonder do they cater. No doubt I will visit again.

The food was tasty but could have been warmer. The Oxtails could have cooked longer, they were a little tough.
