Blacks Bbq after going to Terry Blacks in Waco was such a disappointment. I will definitely be sticking to the Waco location. Staff rushes u thru the process of picking ur food that u don’t even have a chance to look at all the options. Was not offered extra bbq sauce, bread was self serve so had to wrap

At the world fair this past weekend, I had the highest honor of meeting the barbecue legend 3rd generation pit master Kent Black, who was as nice as pie, and such a kind soul! He took the time to talk to me about his families history in Texas bbq and about his grandmother having created most of the delicious sides that are still all on the menu today.
I was able to tell him in person how I feel that Original Blacks in Lockhart in my opinion is absolutely the very best bbq experience, where literally everything is consistently great, and there is a special magic in the air, that I have never experienced anywhere else!
The Original Blacks sets the bar and is the model for classic Texas Barbecue!
If you are visiting Texas, then be sure to get over to the Original Blacks to experience the greatest barbecue, service, and atmosphere, in this magical place!

Great place. Friendly Staff ! Always fun atmosphere
We visited at an off hour, so the place was empty. The staff were very happy to see us, and greeted us with big smiles. The food was fresh and delicious. We highly recommend the cream corn and the potato salad sides. The beef ribs and chicken were spot on.

Went on A Monday afternoon. 4 ish. No line , we had the entire place to ourselves with A few other people. The sides were delish & the briskit was unbelievably delish and juicy , onions pickles , plenty of bread and an ice cold Shiner Bock the owner even came by to say Hi. Super clean and the staff was very friendly A very pleasant dining experience well worth 56 $ We give them A 10. Plus Lockhart is A lovely town. :)
