Food was good but have gone down in portion size and value. Service was fair had to flag her down often. Was very hot and humid asked them to turn on the AC , they did and it helped, but other families members have told me of same experience.

I recently tried the buffet and was extremely underwhelmed. Everyone was nice, and our waiter, bless his heart, tried his best to give us a nice experience. My problem is with the food. I get that you don't go to a BBQ town for Chinese food, but dang. I can only describe the buffet as moist and bland, emphasis on moist. The best parts were the egg rolls and fried dumplings. The dry rice situation was kind of a travesty. We only grabbed a plate each and left most of the food on those plates. Of course, those half-touched plates cost us $30. I'm torn because their take-out was much better a few months earlier. But after the buffet, I'm gonna stay away from this one.

Not here to complain, just to warn about China palace in lockhart. I placed a to go order there earlier this afternoon. The rice and my husband's orange chicken was a little sketchy looking, but we thought it was just us. But after my son (1 year) and I ate rice from my meal, we've ended up SICK sick. My husband got steamed white rice (seemed fresh) and I had gotten the "egg fried rice" and it was brown, sketchy looking, no egg whatsoever and seemed really dry like it had been old batch of white rice that was reheated/mixed with soy sauce maybe?? So I'm sure my baby and I are having "fried rice syndrome" from eating there.. no pun intended ?

I just moved to the Lockhart area. My husband and I would eat Chinese food regularly in Temple. This was by far the worst we have had! We did carry out we are only 3 min away. We I got home with our dinner it was ice cold. I had to reheat it, The egg drop soup we ordered was visually disgusting. It was lumpy and greasy. We also ordered chicken fried rice, this had an odor to it and again it was so greasy. Same with the sweet and sour chicken. That was again cold and the sweet and sour sauce was horrible. the rice that came with it was stale and sticky. We will not be dinning here again carry out or dine in. Not worth 32 (with Tip)

This is not a Chinese restaurant so don't compare it to one. The menu is familiar but the seasoning is lacking. It'll look like lo-mein and cooked like lo-mein but there's no seasoning or distinct flavor or aroma. To be fair the ingredients are fresh and they don't mask by over salting or overfrying. AKA No risk of food poisoning. The price is reasonable and hovers around 10$ for an entree but they are inexplicably stingy on the rice. You could recreate this menu shopping the HEB frozen section; however, you would have to clean your dishes. TL;DR this is Chinese only in name.

Not a great place. Full price but tiny selection. None really helps you. Food isn't very good either.

Not what I expected for lunch buffet at $13.95. Several items were out. Some dried out. Was told they would put more out. But they didn't. Small restaurant. Not much there. Maybe the locals love it. My first time visit. No good impressions. Should of ordered off the menu. I thought I'd get better food for that price. Egg rolls were the best. Even at room temperature. Oh the almond cookies tasted good as well.
