Other than the Rancid oil on seared green beans
Was pretty good. The Cesar Salad was the best thing we ate. Chicken fried steak was skirt steak, tenderized? Was tough to chew.
I mentioned the oil bottles left on hot surface would cause the oil to become rancid to the server she told cook but the bottles of oil remain there today. šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø

We ordered the Eggs Benedict, Stuffed French Toast and Biscuits and Gravy. And we all got yummy slices of pie to go. Food and service was excellent! A must try if you are in the Lockhart area.

Was our first visit, and will certainly not be our last.

The service was great…our beverages stayed filled and we didn’t have to wait on anything.

The unsweetened iced tea tasted fresh brewed - I am particular about ā€œseveral day old teaā€ taste. The food was tasty and well presented. We tried the Not-so-common BLT and the Mushroom Risotto. Reasonable wait time on the food preparation.

The BLT bacon was good cuts of bacon that were absolutely perfectly cooked. The eggs were just right…cooked enough to not be too messy, but not overcooked so the yolk was like a nice sauce on the bacon. The fries were perfectly crispy and potato-y.

The risotto was creamy and a good consistency. It was seasoned well, allowing the mushrooms to be the star of the show.

Great location, it’s right in the town square across from the courthouse.

Will try it again based on our first experience.

Sensitive to food allergies (Celiac). Duck fat potatoes were to die for! Can't wait to return on my next trip to the area.

my husband took me to this restaurant last night for my birthday to have the prime rib dinner. everything was delicious the service was warm and welcoming and the atmosphere was excellent for a date night. The only improvement could have been a little more crisp on the fries. The two lady servers were fantastic. We will be back!

How the heck is this so highly rated?
The burgers are a joke. SO SMALL. We were both starving at the end. And maybe worth it with flavor but it came with like 2 tiny slivers of pickled onion, and INVISIBLE amount of the green tomato sauce (litterally could not find or taste), under salted, over cooked, I have small hands. It was smaller than my palm. We asked for extra green tomato sauce, didn't help has almost no taste. The fries are not a whole side of fries as one of us ordered a side and it was twice as much. The mac is grainy and the kiddo hated it. Not traditional mac also basic unimpressive flavor. At 17 dollars for a toddler burger with no toppings on it and a shady side of fries..... yeah this little treat of a trip was soooooo not worth the price. The buttermilk lemon pie... just tasted like regular merengue. Zero flavor difference. I've had 4 burgers 4 different places in this town and this one was depressing. Won't be back. They are all presentation and hype.

Some of the BEST FOOD in Lockhart. Things you can’t skip: Biscuits, duck fat potatoes, Brussel sprouts, chicken fried steak, any pie dessert!! The lemon buttermilk was insane.

The food was truly to die for. Scratch kitchen, amazing and unique flavors. You will not regret it!!

This was such a great find while visiting Lockhart. Everyone goes for the BBQ in Lockhart but this spot makes great dishes, all handmade I’m sure. We loved the tomato soup - excellent flavor and depth! Crispy chicken sandwich was very good and they make a great margarita! Place has a great vibe and friendly staff. Will be back on next visit!!

An absolute gem in downtown Lockhart. The popovers were fantastic. Chicken fried steak was absolutely amazing. Mushroom risotto was spectacular. Save room for dessert. The house made pies can not be missed.
