One of worst restaurant experiences I have ever had. Horribly prepared, low quality, frozen food. I should have flushed my money down a filthy gas station toilet. It would have been more fun. Services was not good. The margaritas were good enough to keep us from walking out. We were served chip crumbs as an appetizer. One of our orders was wrong. I had to walk around the place to find someone to replace it. The "Crab Cakes" were frozen, machine formed, imitation "Krab". Catfish was just nasty. Burger was clearly frozen, industrial grade beef patty. Don't feed anyone you love this trash. I would not go back to El Rey for a meal if it were free.

We were just out and thought we give this place a try. We had the greatest service from Victor S. Well, we actually asked him many many questions and he was so sweet and patient. The food and drink were spot on. Definitely will come back when are in Town!!!

Shrimp is amazing and so are the margaritas! Glad we stopped by to check this place out. (Especially with all the awesome bbq around town haha). Victor was super friendly and helpful! We will definitely be back!

Food was trash service was good. Atmosphere was ok. I talked to owner before posting this. Told him his drinks were watered down. He didn't care to talk much. Heard this place was pretty good. But nope won't be coming here again. I'll be returning to casa jaliscos for date night with wife from now on.

I honesty wanted to keep El Rey Crawfish and Oyster Bar a secret.
But not wanting to be selfish....
El Rey is a haven for Jabalaya, crawfish ettofee, fish taco' and Gumbo.
So yes. If you like fresh Civiche.
It's worth the drive from Austin.
But please only tell two people.
Its my secret.... and I need a seat.

Aside from the amazing wrestling they host by AWR! The Catfish nuggets were only a kids item. However, I’ll take two anytime! These nugs were so good. In the words of my daughter “ these are melty.” Literally they were just nice big super melty and soft clean catfish nuggets. And the crawfish was super fresh and good. Market price is pretty common. ? ? I’ll be back for sure. Hardest part was passing all the good bbq on the way there. And then when I got there the food was on point.
