Smitty’s cooks at lower temperatures for longer. Their meat tastes the best in my opinion. You gotta try the smoked Turkey, it is moist, smokey and tender.

Smitty's is a great old school Texas BBQ experience. Went on a tour during the morning and ate lunch afterwards. Very cool place with lots of history. Ordering the meats straight from the pits was awesome. Foodwise the sausage and brisket are very good. Sides are not bad. Prices aren't terrible either.

The Brisket was dry over cooked it will take you six months to eat. 32.00 waste. Ribs tasted like a couple of days ago. I can cook better than this. I have been coming since childhood. They charge for pickles, etc.

Folks say Smitty’s has the best cue in town but it must not be on Sundays. My 2nd visit was just as lackluster as the 1st. Dry shoulder, tough ribs, and salty slim jim jalapeño snausage. Reminiscent of going down on a grandma. Not mine, she’s still alive.

There are a lot of options in Lockhart - and Smitty’s is one of the ones I always go to. When you have a chance to see bbq created with love and fire you should take it.
Their sausage is too wet, but their brisket is pure happiness. Go for some brisket and if you’re feeling frisky add some prime rib.
Beer at $3 is a deal nowadays so plan on coming thirsty.

the meat at smitty’s is soooooooo good that it makes me want to cry. I love the smoky, hazy ambience of the meat room with fires blazing. Oh yeah, no utensils so grab lots of napkins. You don’t need bbq sauce!!!! Sides are lackluster in my opinion. Focus on the meaaaaaaats!
