Used to love this place when it was rockin K, now its kinda meh. Not terrible... but, smaller portion sizes, more expensive, and mediocre service (forgetting things and slight inaccuracies in the order, etc). Quality of food also wasnt as good as it was. To be fair, we did go around 7pm, so maybe its better during more peak hours but... idk.

Tried the steak dinner on Saturday. The steak was undercooked. It was basically rare to not cook on the edges. Potatoes were not cooked throughout . Oreo pudding was our best experience. Waitress not experienced at all. Next time we will order medium instead of medium rare.

Great experience ? I got the double hamburger with no bun (they have gluten free buns available) with tater tots and the burgers were so good and tater tots fried to perfection. Also, we tried the cheese sticks which were very good. My husband got the combo with fried catfish, French fries, 1 hush puppy and boiled shrimp with beans and coleslaw. The catfish had good flavor and good coating. Very good portions, will return.

We've eaten often at the Rockin' K for years, and since the new owners kept most of the cooks and wait staff, the food has remained consistently delicious and service is good. The interior renovations will take a little getting used to but turned out very well. Only downside is that while the staff is friendly, the owners are not. Hence, the 2 stars for atmosphere. They are usually there, which is good, but we can't remember one time when they said hello, goodbye, thanked us for our business or stopped by our table to check on us. They don't even make eye contact, much less smile at us, or we'd introduce ourselves and compliment them on the renovations. Seems to us (and to other loyal, local customers that we've talked to) that they were talked into taking over, are not happy about it, don't want to be there and definitely don't appreciate their customers. We'll keep eating there for the food but it's sure a strange way to run a restaurant.
We ate here passing through to Lampasas. Very clean place, good service, and good food. If you’ve never had fried pickles before, you gotta try theirs!

Absolutely the WORST service I have ever experienced! My family went there for Friday fish, seated ourselves. That’s when the PITIFUL time started. We were never acknowledged by the waitstaff and watched people come in after us and be served and complete their meals , pay and leaveAfter FORTY FIVE minutes we finally had enough of NO service and left! Talked to the girl at the cash counter, told her about our experience where she stated “too bad” and turned around and left me there absolutely astounded by the lackluster attitude!I would NEVER go back there & NOT RECOMMEND them to anyone- ever. I hope they reap what they sow!
