You'd figure a place in TX would have a better idea of what Mexican food would be, but they clearly don't... I've had Tex-Mex, but this place was closer to Cajun-Mex with their imagination & take on a variety of traditional Mexican dishesThe problem was the quality of food & misinterpretation of what was asked forFor starters, their salsa tastes like canned tomatoes with Ketchup added to itI ordered a steak Burrito with queso, but asked for grilled onions & grilled jalapeños to be included inside in favor of Danny's Special...IDK what place would have included pickled jalapeños on this request, but it ruined the burrito itself; the server suggested they would make the dish again, but was denied by management & came back with diced, raw jalapeños instead & asked me if it was OK?...what a joke!?!This place should be called "Oppositas"Our party of 8 spent over $200 here

Do you like Abuelos? Do you hate flavor? Are jalapeños your enemy?Then this is perfect for you. It's weird, a bit run down. Like if a Casa Bonita should've been condemned ten years ago but somehow still stayed open.The interior is cavernous and LOUD, even when only half full.Looked like they had a nice patio but it was not offered or mentioned to us.There's an On the Border across the street. Just go there.Wheelchair accessibility: Bathrooms are not really fully accessible.

It is Friday night very busy, but we had a large party of 20 and the service was great. The food was good. Our waitress was very good very patient and very on top of everything along with all of her other tables great service great food go to Papacitas

Enjoyed a great lunch with a vendor. The chips and salsa are delicious. I had a salad with fajita beef and it was very fresh.The atmosphere at lunch is bustling and the service did not disappoint.

I don't see how this place has almost 5 star's the environment was nice for the kids but when it comes to food it's trash! The chicken tortilla soup was just full of rice and chips and had no flavor, my husband's steak burrito had little to no steak and tasteless. This the first and last time we go there..
I ate here with a friend who happened to be an employee. We both ordered 1 margarita each and I paid for his. It was about 4 hours before his shift. A manager came up and saw that he had one so he came to our table, told us he had the right to terminate my friend, and took my friend’s drink then proceeded to pour it down the sink. I asked him if I could be reimbursed and then was told to take it up with my friend. I walked out rather unhappy. Otherwise, food and service was good.I’ve worked here before and have been going here for years.

The food here is just alright. We used to go to Papacita's all the time growing up with our parents and it used to be amazing. The homemade tortillas are delicious! The salsa is blah and not much flavor. I wouldn't come back. There are just way too many other amazing Mexican restaurants out there to go to instead.

When I was 5 years old, my family would take me to Papacita’s and it was just the best. Now I bring my 6 year old when we come into town to visit family. It’s so sweet to have the tradition, and the food is the best! You always have to eat Papacita’s when you’re in town. The chips and tortillas just can’t be replicated. I hope Papacita’s is around for many years to come.
