This is why I LOVE tacos el patron. The program they have for feeding those who may be hungry is beautiful to see in this city. Also it's the Best Mexican food you will get around the area hands down!!! Best quesabirrias ever. Stop by if you can!!

Their Birria tacos are so amazing that I made a video about them! Quick Bite - Ep. 1 - Tacos El Patron - Birria Tacosyoutube.com/watch?v=ZvN4…

The boss for real! The birria tacos with cheese were thick, crispy and super sumptuous. I couldn't believe how much meat they packed in each taco. Dare I say, its almost too much. This place def doesn't skimp on their portions. Loved the flavor explosion of the savory meat, the richness of the dip and all incased in a crispy cheesy ooh weezy crustable shell. Muy deliciosooooo.Dos Pulgares Arriba!

After a 3-mile afternoon hike in Lime Ridge, trying a Michelada (a lifelong curiosity) seemed the most in the cards as it would ever be. As much as I adore El Pollo Loco, I was also curious about birria tacos that bring the full-fat 'real-food' vibe I grew up with. Both turned out to be great reasons to stop by El Patron! Great food, great service, and great vibes outside on a warm day. Free chips & salsa, both were excellent. Their hot sauces are not messing around! I ended up saving some of my taco to share as a sampler, evangelizing the beauty of the cheesy Birria taco (do not skip on the cheese). A spicier Michelada will be in my future, but this was a solid starter for the uneducated. Loved this place & will be back!

I grew up eating Tacos from Oakland Taco Trucks all my life and since I've moved to the area I have not found anything comparable until now! The tacos here are packed with meat and I love that they have salsas on the side. They have some special tacos which adds a lot of flair to the menu. Definitely found my new taco spot! They also have dessert from Only Flanz. They were good but a bit pricey. You definitely need to try this spot!

This place has the best Birria tacos that I've had in the Bay Area hands down. They are a little pricey at $5.50 each but I think they are worth it. The meat is juicy and tender and the tortillas are perfectly fried. I always add cheese to make them even better. I always get them to go and I don't even know if they have a seating area in the back. That's the only thing I ever get from there but I think I'm gonna try a burrito next time.

Place is FIRE!!!! I wish it was an in door dinning place but then the quality would likely go down They have outdoor seating but gets kinda hot. The birria tacos are by far the best I have ever had. I'm craving it right now after just having it lol.Staff is super friendly and food is ready pretty quick!11/10 place.

Others have mentioned the hardest thing about Tacos El Patron is not missing the turn into their parking lot, but in my opinion, the hardest part is choosing what to eat!Their birria tacos are filled with succulent beef as well as onions & cilantro that go perfectly with their rich dipping broth, and their quesabirria adds that extra dimension of crispy cheese. But frankly, we also love all of their other taco options too. Recently, we dove into a tray containing each of their especiales tacos: birria, taco patron (shrimp, cheese, guacamole and pico de gallo), fried fish taco (taco de pescado), vampiro (carne asada on a tostada with cheese, guacamole, onions & cilantro), and norteno (carne asada on a flour tortilla with cheese hot pepper, cabbage & onions). The variety of flavors was incredible and was definitely so stuffed by the last one that I wasn't sure I was going to finish it!They also have regular tacos with all of the different meat options, along with a veggie option too, and you can get free sides if you order two or more tacos. Their guacamole is also legit. We also recently enjoyed their green chicken enchiladas which included tender chicken in a mild green Chile sauce and paired with Spanish rice and refried beans. And you can wash it all down with aguas frescas, Mexican Coke and other sodas, or various beers and sangria. Service for me has always been efficient and friendly, and being able to sit outside under their tent has been fun (other than sometimes loud cars off Monument Blvd). To me, Tacos El Patron is the best taco place I've eaten at in the East Bay and will keep enjoying their tacos while exploring different menu items they offer.

Between our family we had fish, meat and veggie tacos. Amazing food. No idea what the recent bad reviews are about. Have had tacos in Mexico and Califoenia and these today were some of the best. Delicious!

First time trying them. It's a red food trailer, not a building. No outdoor seating. But the tacos were tasty. Gooood. I bought a Pollo, a Bistek and 2 Barbacoas. They came with cilantro and onions. The red sauce was hot just I like it. The price for each taco was $2.25. I will be going back no doubt....I ate the chicken taco before I took this photo....

We found several dishes had sold out even at 8pm. Dishes are small and not great quality (we are used to Wahaca in the UK). Chicken pibil was just meat, lots of cheese and no vegetables. Tacos with guacamole were deep-fried and 9 Euros for a pretty small portion and tacos had sold out by 8.45 when we wanted to take some back to our hotel for our daughter who wasn’t feeling up to coming out. We also feel it’s cheeky to ask if we want to tip when you pay before the meal and you have to collect all your food and drink anyway!

Revisted after pandemic in the new location up the road. Looking forward, as the old spot was a great jewel and hidden gem. Unfortunately I see a massive drop in the quality of food. The portion are rather small and for that quite expensive. 6€ for a portion of Guaca (in Slo!) - you must be joking. My reference for Mex is Los Pilones in Amsterdam and even they are in the price range but that is Amsterdam. The taco-chip plate is quite small and not really tasty. From the tacos, the pork one is the only one to recommend, chicken and veggie are not that tasty. „Service“, as you order and pick up at counter, is quite clueless and chaotic. But that is not tragic as I am aware that it is tough to service stuff these days. Unfortunately there is a lack of alternatives of Mexican in LJ. Yet I will not come back and can not recommend. It is a pity what became of this place

Tasteless, expensive, tiny tacos. One taco costs 5+ eur, really? Chicken and pork tacos are bland and served with meat only. No vegetables, no sauce, no spices, only shredded meat and tortilla. 5 eur for a tiny tortilla and meat. Churros are terrible, brown and burnt, they crumble like cookies and are rock hard. Easily the worst churros we ever had. Fish tacos were fantastic. Cooks smoking in front of the restaurant, staff speaks only english. We do not recommend. If you can't avoid eating here, order fish tacos. We will not return, there are far better places than this.
