European with French flair. Loved it. Perfect portion sizes. Food tastes clean and freshly prepared. Will definitely dine here again when I am back in town.
This was our first visit to Chez Sami. Décor is lovely and ambiance is calm and comforting...upscale yet casual. The food is the problem. The three of us ordered escargot which came out in a timely manner and was hot and delicious however the warm bread was not ready and it would be 3 – 4 minutes for it to come out. We decided to wait for the bread to finish the escargot which is an escargot necessity. The bread was not ready for approximately 8 - 10 minutes during which time the escargot became luke warm and this ruined the appetizer. The bread was perfect and hot though which saved the appetizer experience. One of our short rib orders was tough and had to be sawed with a knife, the other short rib dish was luke warm, and the duck entrée was bland. We did enjoy our evening with a good wine selection though.
Great food, and a really cool atmosphere with an amazing singer/guitar duet. Started with the escargot, and they were perfectly cooked. The beef wellington and seafood gnocchi were excellent. Finished with the creme brulee. They serve wine by the glass or the bottle. Also serve beer. The vibe was relaxed and not too loud. Great for a couple's dinner. The staff was very attentive and professional. Highly recommend Chez Sami!
This was a perfect place for a romantic date night. The food was amazing- we especially enjoyed the escargot as an appetizer and the scallops as the main course. We will be back!
The appetizer and dessert were very good. Unfortunately, our main course was cold. I am assuming it might be an isolated incident since the tables around us received steaming hot main courses. The kitchen and front of house appeared to be short staffed and it took a considerable amount of time to receive each course. The wait staff spent a lot of time standing at the kitchen window staring and waiting for the food. The live music saved the night and made the hour wait between the main courses and dessert tolerable.
I give the restaurant 5 stars for the excellent service and the quality of their menu. The food choices were great as was the quality of the wine list. I especially enjoyed the music. It provided a perfect complement to the ambiance of the restaurant. They have a prix fixe menu. Everything is one price and includes appetizer, entree and dessert. This is not clear on the website, which should be changed to avoid surprises.
Even after confirming a reservation for 8 people with Jon W, we were not told of the new liquor policy nor the fact that the menu would be a set menu, set price. These were disappointments. The food was good but very small portions for the set price. The staff was happy to see us go (last table to leave) - they couldn't get the lights off quick enough. This was our last Christmas celebration at Chez Sami. Sad to say because we try to support local.
We had a wonderful experience. Service was spot on! Enjoyed a preset menu with wine pairing. Just wonderful!!!
The food was superior along with the presentation! This chef knows how to create and deliver culinary joys! The ambiance was relaxing and inviting - with live piano the pleasant touch. Highly recommended!
Food and service were absolutely amazing!! Only complaint was I think the A/C was broken so it was a bit warm. Other than that it was great!!

It was a little disappointing when we showed up to our reservation to find out that the full menu was not available, only a prix fixe, priced at $80/person. After a full day of football at Texas Tech, my friends and I were looking forward to sharing a few things off the full menu, rather than an elegant three-course meal. It would be helpful if this were advertised ahead of time. Otherwise, the food was quite good, particularly the beef wellington, and service was attentive. I'd recommend to folks in Lubbock, but would investigate more closely if the restaurant is only doing a prix fixe menu.
May your all your bills stay paid & your pockets stay blessed 10 fold. We have enjoyed every. single. dish. Paul is hands down the best server we've had! The beef wellington is my absolute favorite next to the quail. My husband's favorite is the duck. Please never get rid of the goat cheese, pear salad. Was obsessed with dessert thank you, truly a wonderful experience.

Very special occasion; very disappointing experience. Mediocre food (because some of it was served cold); very mediocre service. High corkage fee for your own bottle ($30). Good ambiance but not worth the price.
We had the most amazing meal from Chef Jon. Service was wonderful and everything we ate was delicious. The lobster and beef Wellington were perfect. Will be back very soon!

It was our 35th Anniversary...Highly Recommend!! Overall we really enjoyed it!!! Our entrees (Beef Wellington and the Quail) were both outstanding!! Desserts (chocolate tart and crème brûlée) were somewhere between slightly above average to average. Great atmosphere!
