I had pretty good memories of this restaurant from my childhood, went the other night and I was really disappointed. I did not like their food. I ordered half noodles, half fried rice with sweet & sour chicken. The rice was very hard and undercooked, but that doesn't begin to describe how bad the food was.....the noodles were an abomination, they were mushy and very watery. WATERY! I have never encountered noodles that tasted watery, as you would chew, the water would seep out! The egg rolls were fresh and very crispy. But, you really don't go to a restaurant for just the egg rolls. The chicken was okay but it was overcooked for most peoples' taste. The drive thru was pretty busy but I honestly don't know how they stay in business with substandard food.

I waited at the menu for about 6 mins before anyone acknowledged me. Once to the window staff were bothered i was there.

Greasiest food we've ever had. Only thing they didn't skimp on was the poor attitude when ordering. Got the feeling we were interrupting a high school gossip meeting while we were there. Also, never had chicken chow mein without noodles before, must be exclusive to this place.Stay at home, have frozen Chinese dinners, you'll have a better experience.

Very pricey for what you get. We ordered our food together, and my rice bowl took almost 15 minutes to come after my husband's plate. He was done eating by the time my bowl came out.The steak and chicken bowl...hide and seek with the meat. Like I said pricey!! There are very small pieces of steak and chicken, and the rice barely filled the bowl. Can't forget the one mushroom crowding out the one piece of broccoli...We've never seen chicken chow mein made completely with cabbage instead of noodles, but maybe it's a new thing? We dined in and they brought mine out in a go box with lid......don't let the door hit ya on the way out. A whole lot of behind the counter flirting going on. Too busy with that to make food.Pot banging and oh, then more pots banging around. Not a zen atmosphere whatsoever. Came hungry ...left hungry. Would not recommend this place. Try Thai pepper or aloha grill. Which are completely amazing and give you enough food.

Just tried new location. Very disappointing!! Rice and veggies under cooked, five little pieces of meat hardly any sauce on both beef and broccoli and the sweet and sour chicken!!! Only thing good was the sodas!! Fried rice has no flavor what so ever. If you want Chinese food go somewhere else. All the other Chinese food places are great with good portions!! I have hit them all.

I’ve eaten at this place since I was young and my grandmother would take me to the old location. I do like the new location and the food mostly retained its goodness. They use fresh ingredients and have no msg. They’re egg rolls are the best in town!

First & last visit all at the same time. Upcharge for fried rice and lo mein with our combos, which is ok. But, where was the meat? A full adult order had 6 pitifully tiny pieces of chicken - which had to go quickly thru the sauce as it barely had any. The egg rolls are better at HEB, and the order taker only got part of my order even after asking twice. The fried rice was flavorless and the lo mein was starchy / pasty tasting. My high hopes for a decent Chinese meal in Lubbock went in the trash with most of our dinner.

My husband and I wanted something different and decided on Chinese. He found Chinese Kitchen on his phone and we decided to try it. Worst I have had. I had a teriyaki chicken bowl, and the chicken was bland, no sauce at all. They threw in a few pieces of pineapple and called it teriyaki. Rice was terrible, I threw 3/4 of mine away. I also had the wontons, I do not recommend. My husband had the beef and shrimp bowl, again, worst we have had. We also had a wait. People after us were getting there food as we sat there. Finally a lady came out and took our receipt to see where our food was. It took another 15 minutes for the food to come. Also the dining room was dirty. All the tables were dirty and during the time we were there, no one came out to clean the tables. New customers were having to sit at dirty tables.

Unsanitary, old food and not worth it. I’ve been here twice, the first time I came I developed a sore throat after, which I couldn’t pin point at the time. This was the last place we visited so it could have been a variety of reasons. The food wasn’t to my liking as the lo mein seemed mushy and the food just seem old in general to me. My husband insisted we go there again three days later, my throat pain had subsided and even though I didn’t enjoy my last visit I figured maybe I’ll give it another shot. Maybe we went at a bad time and he seemed to enjoy his plate. I ordered different food this time but same thing. My son and husband meals were old and the drink tasted like an old dish rag so I had to change it. This time my husband spat his food out because some of his rice was hard and just wasn’t fresh. Unfortunately we threw a lot away because we lost appetite. I felt like my throat pain was coming back in the car and upon returning home my throat was red and puffy again worse than before. Definitely was something unsanitary I ingested from there. This was the first and only place I went to this time and have no symptoms aside from throat irritation. I have no allergies to the food I ordered and despite our meals being old I feel it could be their tea machines aren’t getting cleaned properly.

So the food here is very good. I noticed the prices have gone up since they first started, but that's ok I understand that. So I went there today, thru the drive up, placed my order, and from the time I ordered till I got the food was 14 minutes. The large coke I ordered was literally filled to the brim with ice. I maybe got 8 ounces in my 32 ounce cup. Pretty pathetic. They have gone way downhill since they first opened!! Tasty food, but they don't care about wait times for the customer and way overcharged for the drink itself.

Not again. We have been visiting Chinese Kitchen for over a year now and have enjoyed their food so far. Our last visit changed that. Not only have they changed their plates to be ½ the size of the original plates, but this image is what they gave me as an adult serving. I ordered fried rice with 2 types of meat: sesame chicken and sweet and sour chicken. When I asked why my portion looked the exact same size as my little boy’s portion (a kids meal with fried rice, which they upcharged .50 for, mind you), I was told that I was “allowed” only 5 pieces of chicken. They had “faithfully” put 5 dry sweet and sour chicken on my plate full of rice. No sauce and no sesame chicken…despite ringing the plate up for full price. What is interesting is that the family behind us in line had been talking with one of the other servers as if they knew him. Their tray full of 3 plates was set next to ours as we were paying and that’s when I about lost it. They had heaping helpings of their food. As you can see in the picture, this is NOT worth $10.99 per plate. It is exactly the same in content and size as the kids meal for $5.50. When I questioned the contents of my plate, the young man argued that I was “allowed” 5 pieces. When I asserted that I had ordered 2 types of chicken, he tried to put 2 of the sweet and sour chicken back to add…you guessed it, 2 sesame chicken in its place. By this point, I was boiling and told him I might as well have ordered a kids plate, to which he replied that I couldn’t since I’m an adult. So….apparently, we’re penalizing adults with a $4 upcharge for nothing. Through all of this, NO manager appeared. Not one. Two other employees hovered around but did nothing, said nothing. Finally, a girl who had been working the drive-through window came up and added 5 sesame chicken onto the plate just to move the line. It was embarrassing. It was frustrating. We had already noticed the astonishing change of size in the plates and then this! Sadly, even before all this, a “fast food” style Chinese restaurant didn’t warrant $55 for 4 people (2 adults/2 kids) in the first place. With the smaller plates and then the frustration of how we were served, it REALLY isn’t worth that. This is our last visit.

A blast from the past. Ours in amarillo closed a long time ago. Got the two choice combo was reasonably priced. Got plenty of food that price. Got and drink with the combos. The chicken chow main was ok but needed more sauce. A tad bit dry. The sweet and sour chicken was wonderful. Had plenty of sauce. Liked they cooked it with the sauce. The egg rolls fresh and hot. Had a good filling in them. The cream cheese wontons had tons of cream chesse in them. Nice and creamy. Nice new building. Very clean and modern. The beef and broccoli was ok but the beef was kind of chewy. Overall a good experience.

Honestly it wasn't great. People were nice, but portions small, steamed rice was hard, there was only 4 small pieces of chicken, and it wasn't warm. To add on, I didn't even get my soup or my egg rolls. I'm pretty upset as I paid about $35+ of food and it was truly subpar. I for sure will not be coming back.
