Decided to try Darla’s Southern Cajun Bistro because it was listed as a black owned establishment. Arrived at 3pm, the closing time was 4pm. The waiter (Erica) was unpleasant and appeared unknowledgeable about certain menu items; considering she doesn’t eat meat. Erica shared that they were out of cabbage and sweet potatoes. The ‘dirty macaroni & cheese’ was loose and not desirable. Upon requesting something other than the macaroni, Erica rudely informed us that we wouldn’t be able to get anything else. I only ordered a side of greens and cornbread because my friend wanted to try this place out for a late lunch. If I were by myself, I would have left the establishment due to the rude tone and demeanor of the waiter. The greens were decent (6/10) and the cornbread had a unique taste (7/10).

Chicken and fish are good. Greens were a bit salty, Mac was greasy and not cheesy. The best thing I tasted were the hush puppies(amazing). They charged a 43+% gratuity to our bill. Our food for 4ppl was $80+ish and the tip of $44 was automatically added to the bill. Idk how this works, but if I'd known I would have eaten else were. Food 5/10 service 7/10.

Excellent Soul Food! The Best Soul Food in Las Vegas!! Everything I tasted was absolute perfection. Friendly wait staff. Spotless restaurant. You can tell there are top level chefs doing the cooking. I can't wait to go back. I tried BBQ, catfish, chicken tenders, grits, collard greens, hush puppies, corn and Ocra and sweet tea. Everything was superb. Not greasy, seasoned well, cooked perfect.

When you’re in Las Vegas, you MUST venture off the strip and dine at Darla’s Southern Cajun Bistro! The service and food are impeccable. The food is fresh, well seasoned, and delicious. We will definitely go back the next time we’re in the area.

Omg, there is a new chef in town. In March Chef Carole gave it up and turned over the reigns to Darla's Southern and Cajun Bistro. They lived up to and exceeded the mark. New ownership 5 months later! I took an hour ride into no man's land to find out it is no more, now its Darla's Southern and Cajun Bistro in the same location. After that long trip I had the Catfish, corn & okra and greens. It was superb, hot, fresh and very well seasoned! The decor is bare bones, at any minute I just knew Cillie was going to jump out of 1 of the maison jars and church tables. The food is good. Very good and since I was the only 1 at 2 30 PM dinning in, the service was great. The take out line was out the door! The hours are different, they are open all three meals all day. The waitress has checked on me 5 times in 1 hour. They are ADA Accessible and very friendly! Did I say the food is good. The catfish is fried just right, the okra is immaculate and the greens are fire! I am stuffed, very homestyle and down to earth with real dishes. How did the Ole timers use to say "they stuck their feet in it"

I just found out about this place last night, saw a Facebook post featuring the owner with our Governor. Being a big Gumbo fan I headed right over, and I was not disappointed. If you are a New Orleans Gumbo fan, this is close, very close, to the real thing, A little of that burn going down that I love so much, and full, I do mean full of Shrimp, Crab, Chicken, Sausage (you know the good stuff) The best Gumbo is the thickness of a soup, made from scratch from a roux, that has a little burn as it goes down, it is the color of the Mississippi river, and full of seafood, you can hold the Okra in mine. I have eaten a lot of Las Vegas gumbo's and I would rate Darla's in my top three, along with Landry's original receipt, the best, but alas no longer with us. Lola's and Darla's are neck and neck. But don't take my word for it stop by. I can't wait on my next visit, I have my eye on the Shrimp And Grits, I will let you know what I think. William The Gumbo King
