El mitotes is a great dining area with amazing staff, great tasting food, and cold well served drinks. I highly recommend Yoselin as your server, she is really attentive and caring as a first time buyer, she will give you the best experience on top of what el mitotes has to offer. Hands down the best service in Lubbock, Texas for Mexican food.

Came to this restaurant after high recommendations from a friend, however left pretty disappointed. We waited about 15 minutes for them to set up a table for 5 when it was clearly not busy. There were plenty of empty tables available for a week night. We first ordered some drinks for the table and had to ask after 10 minutes if we could go ahead and order our food. To our surprise, our food came out in decent time but we still didn't have our drinks yet. We repeatedly had to ask about our drinks after they came out at separate times. At one point we saw them just sitting at the bar and our server hadn't noticed they were ours. The food overall had great presentation but lacked flavor. Probably won't be returning.

I went to el mitote with a friend after work, and ordered a beef fajita quesadilla just to find a piece of hair in my mouth when eating. When this was brought up to management they denied there ever being a hair because they couldn’t see it, due to me throwing the hair on the ground. Management then refused to take the item off my bill as they claimed there wasn’t a hair in my food. This was after they took my plate away with the majority of the quesadilla still being there and told me their kitchen was closing so they would not remake it either. They then gave me a discount of $4 off my food after i had taken maybe 3 bites of my food.

i’ve been coming to El Mitote for a while now and it’s always a great experience. tacos are delicious their daily specials never disappoint, and the micheladas....BOMB, so good! Katherine has the best customer service & always has the best vibes. She’s one of the main reasons I keep coming back. She’s always welcoming and on top of everything. Shes attentive, kind, fun and makes everyone feel comfortable. Definitely a must-try spot in Lubbock be sure to ask for kat !

Used to be one of my favorite places to eat, has slowly gone downhill over the past year, food takes longer and longer to come out each time I come, the food has gotten worse, the most recent time had the saltiest birria, stale chips, and old burnt rice mixed into fresher rice, this was consistent across 4 plates, and took over 30 minutes to get my drink from the bar even though it was basically empty. Very disappointed

Waitress came around very little. When she first brought drinks, my wife asked for a glass of extra ice for her tea. On two more occasions we reminded her. Another staff member brought out the food about 25 minutes after ordering. The original waitress finally brought the ice after our food showed up, and by then our glasses were empty.
There were maybe 20 patrons there after church on Sunday.
The fajita meat was burnt.

I am writing to formally complain about a very serious incident that occurred during my visit to your restaurant. Last night, my family and I dined at your establishment, which was the first place we stopped to eat after arriving in town. Shortly after leaving your restaurant and checking into a nearby hotel, we discovered unauthorized activity on our debit card. Based on the timing of the transactions, we strongly believe that our debit card information was compromised during our visit to your restaurant. This situation is extremely concerning and reflects a serious lack of professionalism and ethical conduct. Whether due to an individual employee or inadequate oversight, this incident demonstrates a failure to protect customers and uphold basic standards of trust and integrity. I expect this matter to be taken seriously and investigated immediately. Situations like this not only cause financial harm but also damage the reputation of your business. Shame on the individual responsible and on the management for allowing such poor work ethic and lack of accountability. I hope appropriate action will be taken to ensure this does not happen to any other customer
