Restaurant El Salvador is a fantastic restaurant and I would and have recommended it to anyone. The owner was the first person I spoke to both times I've visited. He seemed genuinely excited to have my family over. This greeting felt more like someone welcoming my family into their home for dinner than a restaurant. The rest of the staff were nothing short of excellent.

I believe they are closed for Good. Sign is painted over. Sadly. Phone out of service too.

We love this restaurant! The food is absolutely AUTHENTIC!! I love the plantains and Crema!! They serve the most tasty crisp chips and salsa. I enjoyed their beans and everything. I just REALLY love the tasteful food. The owner is very nice and he's always watching novelas when walking through the dining room (it's kind of funny cause men don't usually watch soap operas) but he will really look at it when he passes through! Hahaha. He's always funny and greets many customers by name. You can tell many people keep returning for more El Salvador!

Where do I start about this place other than one really hard to find but once you get there you got to try the banana shake omigod it is so good but don't get filled up on it because everything else has been amazing there breakfast plates are to die for planting is very well cooked the sampler appetizer gives you a little bit of everything to enjoy that Salvadorian culture

Let me start off by saying, this is my first experience eating Salvadorian food and this restaurant was way outside of my comfort zone, but I wanted to be adventurous so I finally convinced my husband to take me. So, knowing I'm a newbie to this type of food, don't let it sway you Salvadorian experts from going as there are many great reviews on here from people who probably eat this type of food more often than most of us. I am here to represent the typical mexican-food-eating-Lubbockite who is used to greasy cheese enchiladas. Here we go. Came in on a Sunday with my husband. We are served some homemade tortilla chips with this warm salsa without any chunks. Not really sure what it was, but I liked it. The chips were pretty thick, so that was new. We ordered the Plato Salvadoreno (sampler platter). It had a bunch of different appetizers on it. I liked the corn tamale and this sweet, fried thing (thought it was a fried plantain, but I don't see that listed on the items for the appetizer, so I'm not really certain what it was). The sampler was nice. If you're new to this type of food, you should get it so you can get a tasting of a bunch of different items. You get to choose which type of pupusa you want. We opted for a pupusa with cheese. I learned I don't think I really like pupusas. They are thicker than a flour tortilla and more dense, kind of a marrying of a tortilla and a pancake. I ordered the fajitas and my husband ordered the Carne Asada. Again, pupusas came with the fajitas. The meat had nice flavor but seemed dry on both entrees. Not sure if this is normal for this type of food, but I didn't like it. Overall, I am glad we ventured out, but we probably won't go back just because it's not really our thing.

Friendly service and nice space. The sweet corn cakes and zucchini and pork pupusas were my favorites. The soups looked good as well so I may need to try one on my next visit. I would skip the yucca and tamale because I felt they were too dry and didn't carry as much flavor.

Absolutely fabulous! Make sure you get the fried plantains, and a large glass of Horchata. The Guisada, stuffed cauliflower, and Papusas were all fantastic! This place is definitely a journey, but well worth your time.

Second time to eat here on Saturday 4/28. Jorge is incredibly warm and inviting and the food is absolutely delicious. The Salvadorian cuisine has a unique taste all of its own compared to Mexican/Tex Mex. I want to try to recreate the red hot sauce. It's hard to put down. If I have 1 negative it's that it's never been busier when we've been. This place deserves to be packed.

Stumbled on this place by accident, saw the roadside sign. We'd just been to a farmers market and were looking for lunch. REALLY glad we saw the sign. The food was amazing and the owner was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be going back.

I love this place so much! It's a long way out there but when you have the chance do not pass it up. The drive is well worth it. If you haven't ever been then the sampler plate with pupusa is a must, everything that comes with it is soooo good, you won't regret it. The squash is really great and the burritos are pretty tasty too. But the star of the show here is the pupusa! Get some of them, NOW! Update: I have to just say that this place is so amazing. More people need to come here, there should be a line out the door for this food!
