The winery appears to be completely abandoned. Vines are all dead, doors locked.
Amazing wines in West Texas. Had a great tasting with Bobby whose knowledge is amazing. A MUST stop! The Reserve Cabernet is amazing!
Wonderful wine and great stories.
We stopped into Pheasant Ridge Winery and we're initially surprised at the gravel road and decided to go anyway. Our car made it back there without any issues. We pulled up and immediately greeted by the wine maker. We sat and spoke with him and he is so so very nice. He's an incredibly intelligent man and will talk anything from grapes to history. The wine was fantastic, we are self proclaimed uncultured sweet wine drinkers and I must say even with it being some of the more scary types of wine they were so smooth and pleasant. None of the hairspray/perfume nonsense we have had in other places. They were incredibly balanced flavors. The age and expertise of this winery are definitely prevailing in the flavors. Would strongly recommend for a casual experience.
The wine maker served our tasting and was very knowledgeable.
Visiting for a tasting 3/12/23, Friday 3:30pm, per hours on website. Nobody here.
Wonderful wine and great stories.
Truly a hidden gem. We enjoyed both the hospitality and the wine very thoroughly! The viognier was the best I’ve had. Literally a burst of bright, crisp flavor as it leaves your palate. Thank you, Pheasant Ridge!
An amazing experience. A true gem in the wine world! Highly recommend!
We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon wine tasting at Pheasant Ridge. I wasn’t sure what to expect, traveling down a bumpy gravel road to get to the winery. We were met as we drove up by the wine maker and he invited us in and told us all about the wines, the grapes, the challenges of growing grapes in the area, etc. As we were joined by other folks we struck up conversations and had a pheasant, I mean, pleasant afternoon.

This winery is on a dirt road after turning off from a dirt road. It makes the trip that much more fun and interesting. The wine tasting is very reasonable at only $5 for multiple wines. The host was very knowledgeable and provided a few interesting stories. We purchased a few of the wines and currently drinking one of them as I write the review. If your looking for a nice trip while in Lubbock area stop by and enjoy a glass.
Great wine, amazing people! But TAKE EXIT 14. Google Maps will get you stuck in the mud, exit 14 is paved, surrounding roads are not.
First time here. Wine was good but watch out for their dog, Elizabeth. She jumped on my car and scratched it. No compensation other than a verbal apology and promise for a friend to buff it out offered. I live in New Mexico so that doesn't help much.
Bobby gave us a personal wine test. He is so professional! We have enjoyed buying his excellent wines and both our stories
We called Pleasant ridge Winery to see if we could park our camper there Sunday nite and the Owner Bob was going to visit is 94? Yr old Dad.But he said to make ourselves at home and he would leave us a bottle of wine in an ice bucket and if we liked it we could leave our credit card number. But we liked it and left cash and a gift for his wife!He was so nice! We enjoyed our nite and would stop again if in the area!
