Picoso’s is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. Being from the Houston area, I make it a point to come enjoy Picoso’s when I can. This time I ordered the Crispy Relleno. The queso and brisket was so good, it just melted in my mouth. The server was very attentive and super helpful. Another delicious visit.

In Lubbock for Line Dance Camp. The food and service at Picosos was amazing. We shared a Fry Bread starter and I had the Ahogado Burrito. Both off the Community Spotlight menu. Our waitress explained the wonderful things that Picosos does to support the community and their own staff. It was obvious that Pucosos is more than a job to them.

It was ok. Not our favorite for Mexican fare in Lubbock. My lime cilantro chicken was bland and very salty and the broccolitini was tough, but the rice was delicious. My husband's combination plate was pretty good except for the brisket street taco- the meat was cold. Our waitress was great and very attentive. There was a processing fee, a mixed drink processing fee and an Upcharge for the briskit taco we weren't expecting. Added about $6 to our total.

I went to Picoso’s with friends on a Saturday night for dinner. We were seated right away, ordered & were served drinks quickly. I ordered a birria taco & it was delicious & and more than I could eat. We shared fried bread for appetizer & it, too was delicious. Then we shared sopapillas for desert. I did not leave this restaurant hungry! The next time I visit Lubbock, I will be sure to go back.

We used to eat here religiously, but unfortunately service has gone downhill tremendously. The last time we tried to eat here, our food took almost 2 1/2 hours to come out, we asked to cancel our order after 1 hour, 1.5 hours, and 2 hours and were repeatedly told that was not possible. The manager came out and apologized and charged us in full after wasting half of our day for food we had already let them know we would not eat. We attempted to give this place another chance this morning and were met with immediate hostility when we asked to sit on the patio, even though the screens are open, lights are on, and air is on out there. I would not suggest this place to anyone, especially with dozens of other Mexican food restaurants in town with much better food and service.

The reason for my rating is the amount of food you get vs price. 10.00 for 1 wedge of quesadilla..on top of that they charge 1 cent for every BYO street tacos and then they charge a processing fee and a sales tax processing fee, ridiculous

Overall a great place to eat. We were looking for a chimichanga. Their restaurant menu online said they had one. The in store restaurant did not have one. The waiter did a great job and had the kitchen make one anyway even though they had changed their menus and did not carry it any longer. Food was great, and service was top notch.

Updating my review from 2 to 4 stars. The last 3 times I've ate from here it's been as good as it's ever been! Still pricy but maybe they're back? Or maybe it's that we've been going on weekends only.
Original review:
Been a customer for at least 6-7 years (primarily for takeout but sometimes dine in). This place has gone downhill hard, unfortunately. The food is now quite inconsistent. Sometimes it's good but increasingly, it tastes like it was made incorrectly. The white queso was always the biggest selling point of this restaurant but these days it often tastes like nacho cheese for some reason. The chips are usually stale. The entrees are typically ok, but fairly bland (this is a TexMex place, not Mexican).
The other big problem is their prices have skyrocketed (and way more than inflation). Their new online order platform now adds extra fees, too.
Service has always been a mixed bag, but I didn't mind this as much until the prices went through the roof.

been a customer since 2018 when I started at Tech and got homesick for Leal’s. this place was there for me when I didn’t want to drive 45 home.
unfortunately, the past couple years has been such a let down. inconsistent food and pricing going through the roof. chips have changed within the year and honestly just suck now. the hatch queso is great, when it doesn’t taste like velveeta. my order is wrong quite a bit, as well. a chicken burrito with some queso and green sauce should not be 17 dollars, maybe a few years ago when it was better, i’d question that price a little less. the chicken is usually kinda dry these days.
not sure what it is about the inconsistency, but i ordered again because i was craving my usual and it was SO GOOD. the picosos taste i know all too well. queso was delish and green sauce perfectly spicy. when it’s good, it’s sooooo good.
