We would like to thank Rain Uptown owner and staff. "Date Night Out" fundraiser was a success, great appetizers, food and excellent service!! Thank you for partnering with our team in benefit of our community!!
When I am passing through Lubbock this is one of my favorite stops. Fine dining, quaint bar with live music. Started out with the Escargot drown in garlic parsley butter. Then the Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl which consisted of seasoned fresh red ahi tuna, avocado, sesame seed, cucumber, carrot, white rice and artisan greens. Always delicious! Enjoy!
Great atmosphere, friendly staff good drinks excellent food
When we want to feel a little fancy in Lubbock we love to have dinner rain uptown! A really fun martini menu and savory Italian selections we haven’t had a mean we didn’t love here! Really nice atmosphere and great service.
It is a nice environment and considering the menu prices I would expect high quality service and a fairly speedy turnaround time. It was obvious that the restaurant was very understaffed as our server had a very high volume of tables he was trying to serve. People were waiting at the front for the hostess to seat them the whole time we were there and we never saw a sign of any type of management or supervisory staff. The last time we came here it was disappointing, so we decided to give it another shot. Unfortunately nothing has improved. If you want a nice dinner out, try Funky Door, Cafe J or another quality restaurant in Lubbock where the price is worth it.
We made reservations for Valentine’s Day, then we had to wait while other people who’s reservations were later got sat before us. Apparently the table they had assigned us was not open yet? The service was very slow, and while my pasta was okay my husbands steak was absolutely awful. It was very thin, burned, and just not a good piece of meat at all. Overall I was super unimpressed for a $110 meal. We will not be going back.
I ordered blackened trout, i got salmon with no flavor. Awful food
We made a reservation for Valentine's Day bc they have a Chilean sea bass that I adore. Only upon arrival did we find out that they were doing a fixed menu that did not include the sea bass and we could not order anything but the special menu. The steak was fine but we were disappointed that we could not have what we wanted, and couldn't have gone elsewhere at that point.
There was a set valentines meal for $49 (not advertised when making reservations). The portions were tiny and quality was poor. Staff was more focused on getting us in and out than enjoying the meal.
We had a wonderful, knowledgeable waiter from Serbia. My pasta carbonara was incredibly good and the side dinner salad I had was beautiful with strawberries, tomato's and good homemade dressing.

The brunch breakfast pizza is amazing you have to try it!!! Sausage, bacon, gravy and hash browns on a pizza who knew it could be so delicious.
Do not come here if you want any service or if you are in a hurry or thirsty. This was by far the worst service I have ever had. It took 15 minutes from the time we were seated for someone to come over and give us water. The server did not tell us his name, he did not welcome us in. Once we got our drinks, it took another 25 minutes for him to come back and take our order. We were in the restaurant for an hour and a half. The food was good but it was certainly not worth the extreme wait. All of the servers simply stood in the back in front of the chef, who was by himself, talking and distracting him. WE WILL NEVER GO BACK.
Owner greeting us at the door is always a good start. I really liked the nice, polite waiter. Of course my martini was perfectly prepared! Tried something new....to me....Risotto with seafood. Very good. Calamari fritti, great. Gene got his usual...Roberto penne. A very nice evening!
This is easily the worst restaurant I’ve ever been to. Called over to the manager and he wouldn’t even give me the time of day. Now, I’m not usually one for fancy things, but I had a great harvest this year and decided that I deserve this. Worst experience of my life. To call this place fine dining is an insult to both of those words. You’d be better off setting up a table and chairs in the dumpster behind the restaurant. Also, Chuck should be fired.
Ordered seafood risotto and was served a bowl of plain white long grain rice with shrimp, calimari and a few clams (was also supposed to have scallops) swimming in what tasted like chicken broth with some saffron flavoring. Definitely not Arborio rice and a big disappointment. Tried to order Chardonnay from wine menu; 3 offerings, none of which were available. Ambiance left something to be desired - a strip mall space with no effort made to upgrade. Service was ok but had difficulty understanding our server. Not a great experience.
