the man head working the window did not get ANY OF THE THINGS I ORDERED!!!! also messes up my order and gave me stuff i asked him not to on my nachos. just don’t come here. they were at 1.3 stars the other day and now i know why
If I could give this a 0 I would. The food was not even edible. The chips tasted like Playdo, beans were old and overly salted, and taco meat was dried out. Don’t waste your money! I remember when this use to be good.
Disappointing. We were the only ones there. At 5pm. Took a little while to get our order done. Something tasted off about the salsa, couldn't eat it. The food was ok.
Taco Bueno Closing? Not surprised and I’ll tell you why. They do not have consistency when preparing their food. We offered to bean burritos, a beef and bean burrito and brisket nachos to go.When we opened these items at home, one of the bean burritos was just halfway full and the other half was only a folded flour tortilla. The beef and bean burrito made a great bean burrito as the meat was barely there and hard to find. The brisket nachos was extremely stingy with a few chips making up half a clam shell they make it in and in those few chips were beans placed on most of those chips but brisket, was only at most about 3 teaspoons on those nachos. How can a business stay open with poor product and service like this?
Been waiting for them to come back to Lubbock.... and it was worth the wait lol. As always food was good and they made sure I was happy ?. Only problem I had was the potato burritos I got seemed to have a lot of lettuce in comparison to the rest of the fillings. Still gonna be going back though ??
Portion size is big but no different then any other taco place. I could have made better at home. About all this place is good for is a quick snack
We stopped by for a late dinner. We ordered at 8:55 pm and after placing our order was told they were out of beans and it would be 15 minutes. We drove around and went back 20 minutes later. We ordered 2 party tacos and 3 party burritos. When we got to the window, the young woman only heard 2 and 2 so she added the 3rd burrito and we paid. She brought the food and I asked for hot sauce. She said, “they left me high and dry and I don’t have any hot sauce.” She did say she was making some but did mot have any. When we got back to our hotel, there were only 2 burritos and 2 tacos. They did taste good, but no hot sauce and shorted us one item. .
This is a perfect example of a restaurant that is struggling due to being shortstaffed and not having the time/resources to train staff properly. We arrived about 830 on a Saturday night. Only 1 table of customers when we arrived, but a steadying through the drive thru. Every table was dirty, the salsa bar was down to the dregs and the soda machine needed to be wiped down due to spilled soda. The young man on the register was more interested in his beverage than the register. He tried taking our order, but the manager wound up coming over to help although we didn't order anything complicated - combination nachos and tacos. We paid for large drinks, but received medium and had to go back for lids because there were any out next to the straws. We finally got our food, but lacking the sour cream for the nachos. My husband went up to ask for it prompting the manager to come out to apologize for the mistakes. She was on her 2nd double shift and asked us to return on Sunday - her 3rd double- and she would buy our meals. We told her that wasn't necessary, but thank her for the offer. We continued to watch her running all over the kitchen trying to keep orders going and telling her two staff members what to do. The young man at the front continued to enjoy his beverage and then took a break instead of cleaning the dining room. We didn't go back on Sunday for the free meal. The food was fine, but but we did feel for the manager.
They take forever to prepare the food then they serve up a big mess in a foam container it was slathered in sour cream and the chips were stale. Even the drive through is a mess old chairs sitting in the other lane I feel like it's the most generic Mexican place in Lubbock no wonder they are possibly going out of business!!!
We arrived at Taco Bueno for a late dinner. Upon arrival, we noticed a sign stating that they were out of beans. We asked the counter attendant (who was obviously new and didn't know the register) for suggestions based on the limited availability. After ordering our meal, the counter attendant was in a hurry to leave the counter. We had to flag him down to get our drinks. He gave us medium drinks after he just rang us up as large. The food arrived and was missing the sour cream for my quesadilla. The food was quite tasty. The manager did come to our table and offer to make ammends by offering us a meal on her(which we did not take her up on) the next day. We will drop back in soon and give them another shot.

They were one of the few restaurants open on Easter. They had run out of refried beans which limited our choices. We ended just getting a couple of crispy tacos. They were ok at best. The lady that took our order and helped us at the window was incredible!!! Super nice!!
The Bueno Chilada chicken platter was good and worth $7.69. The Big Freak’n beef burrito was $4.59 and the only thing wrong with it was the tortilla was dry and flaky. The churro 5 pack was $2.39. The Churros tasted very greasy.Good customer service. I would eat here again.
Their customer service is great. I never have an issue and the amount of food for the price always keeps us coming back. Hope it sticks around Lubbock longer than the last one. ???
This is just my opinion but I will not be going back to this place Food quality sucked iwasn't that great The red sauce they put over everything has too much chili powder in it. We went in there and there was only 2 couples and all the other tables were empty or empty but all of them were dirty and nasty. Needs better management and better food I will not recommend. I will rather go to Taco Bell.
We stopped at the 82nd Street location for a quick lunch before a hair appointment. First time at a Taco Bueno and we were pleasantly surprised. It may be better than our usual Taco Villa or Taco Casa fast Tex-mex. We will be going back, probably tonight to check out take out.
