The Funky Door Bistro & Wine Room

It was a beautiful evening with our best friends celebrating my gorgeous wife. It was busy, the music was great and we were treated like royalty! The Executive Chef came out as well to make sure everything was perfect. This is a go to place.

This was my first time eating at the funky door. I went to celebrate my birthday and the atmosphere was perfect! Our server was rayana and she was amazing and even brought me a birthday ice cream with a sparkler in it. I recommend this resturant if you're wanting to try something new!

This place was amazing. We're from out of town visiting and I chose this place to take my fiancée to. The ambiance, the hostess, the waitress and her trainee, the food, even the customer service was simply incredible.

Funky is the key word. Fun, playful food. Great live music.

Went to the Funky Door on a recent trip to Lubbock. It was also my 37th wedding anniversary so my wife and I were hoping for a stellar experience. We were not disappointed on any level. The atmosphere is dark and sultry. The service was a solid 10 out of 10. The drinks were even better. We mostly had several appetizers and the Fiesta fondue. Everything was fantastic. Finished with a slice of cheesecake flamed table side with 151 rum. Live music by Arle Ross was unexpected and outstanding.

Loved this place!! All of the staff were amazing and the food was absolutely delicious!! Will definitely be going back when we visit lubbock again.

We had the most amazing date night experience tonight! Dinner with Gavin serving, wonderful food, followed by dessert and cigars on the patio! Zach the GM was wonderful! Definitely recommend the funky door fondue, and the bananas foster fondue! Also enjoyed the millionaire steak, the New York strip, the butternut and bacon fettuccine. Pickle Chilton, Funky door old fashion, Coconut Margo, and Belvedere tonic drinks were wonderful as well!

I took my lady there for a birthday date. The atmosphere was tremendous, the staff was pleasant, and the entertainment was a single man with a guitar who was phenomenal. Our experience was extremely wonderful and I highly recommend The Funky Door if you're looking for fine dining and a pleasant place to unwind and relax.

Great options for wine, generous pours for the flights at a reasonable price. However, it took 25 minutes before our orders were taken and 55 minutes before our food was delivered (and there were only 3 other tables being served). Will give it another shot, perhaps in the evening as the overall experience has a lot of potential. Also, check your bill as posted menu prices were different than what was charged.

I feel like the expectation of this place might have been too high. We waited for our food for an hour without there being too many people there. The waitress was nice and the food was average. Probably could have went to Cracker Barrel…

Band was playing when we came in and they were rocking it. We got a wine flight each and it was great. They left the bottle so we could see what we were drinking. Staff was friendly and professional. Definitely returning

Took my family of four to lunch. We ordered a petite filet medium, & two ribeyes, one medium & one medium well.
The filet came out rare, the medium ribeye was medium well, & the well done steak came out medium well as well. I told the server my steak was over cooked & he said “that’s how we cook steaks medium here.”
& the grilled cheese sandwich was burnt.
We also never received the order of fried we ordered with the petite filet. The manager removed the filet minion from the ticket, due to it being nearly inedible & they never bringing the fries. & we received $25 off next visit. My wife was extremely upset we couldn’t use it this visit, when we were truly dissatisfied. I don’t think we will be returning here, to even have the opportunity to use the discount card.
Maybe go to an actual steak house for steaks in Lubbock, because this place doesn’t quite have them down. Not a positive experience.
