Great place to play. Walked the course and was not too bad of a walk.
Made me forget I was in west Texas. What a beautiful course, and really not that expensive. My only knock on the place would be the pace of play being a little slow with people looking for lost balls everywhere.
I played this course in 2011 and 2012 and loved the course and the layout and the staff there. I had the pleasure of getting to play the course again this past week on vacation and the course was wonderful. It is a gem and everyone should play it at least once.
really beautiful
Love this place!
The course is what draws me. It’s a good challenge of golf and this day was in fantastic shape!
Plus, tons of nice & friendly people making sure you have a great experience.
Then, the food is on point. Whether you like Texas Tech or not, it’s a cool place to enjoy some golf and a meal. Personally, I love all the Tech stuff!
Absolutely a top notch course. A must play if you are visiting Lubbock.
This is a great course. A must play if you’re in Lubbock. The rating/slope, in my opinion, is not accurate. Both should be higher than listed. I’m a 2-3 handicap and with the usual 20-25 mph west Texas wind it proved to be one of the most difficult courses I’ve played anywhere. The greens are large with many undulations, requiring accurate approach shots below the hole and very difficult to read which attributes to most of the course’s difficulty.
Beautiful course and great hospitality
WARNING! Now called Jimmy's Grill. Inside a golf club. There is no sign directing you to this place. ABSOLUTELY NO SERVICE ANIMALS ALLOWED as it's against Texas Tech and/or The Golf Club rules, even with a full membership. They had no way of knowing my status as a disabled veterans tbh. I did tell him the dog was my service animal. Upon leaving, I let the Mgr know that according to the Americans with disabilites act, he may be breaking the law.I was informed that he'd contacted the head office in Arizona and was told it was not allowed under any circumstance. Naturally, we complied with the rules, though I was made to feel truly out of place. The food was hot and quite delicious, but we had more issues. The salt shakers were quite disgusting. Check the pics. After searching the downstairs for the waitress, manager, or any staff member, I eventually found one waitress in the gift shop. She was kind enough to return to our table to take our order. Keep in mind, the place was empty, except one other couple.I'm not angry, just disappointed. Wanted to warn anyone with a pet or svc animal that they are not welcome here. Jimmy's Grill was recommended to us online.Lastly, the manager did apologize and was understanding and polite. He promised to do better.
We played here on a trip through Lubbock. It’s a dunes-type course with prairie grasses lining all fairways and abutting the first cut. If you hit a ball out of bounds it is as good as gone. And, the starter warned us about snakes but did not see any! The greens are in great shape. The Clubhouse is nice with good food service and very friendly Pro Shop staff. The public can make tee times after noon. The carts are new EZGO and are very nice. Play this tract!

Played Rawls today and it is in the best shape I have seen it in a long time. Fairways, bunkers, greens, everything has come together. Good work everyone!
Absolutely awful went for a tournament and card machine wasn’t working ended up getting charged $80 unknowingly on a box of golf balls that are normally around $40
Bring your bug spray!!
Best public course in Lubbock! Just received a new fleet of golf carts too.
Beautiful links style course tied to Texas Tech U. I play it once a year and always enjoy the course.
