We've now visited The Mill House in Lufkin twice, and both experiences were excellent!
On our first visit, the service was outstanding--our server was incredibly attentive, polite, and made us feel welcome right away. The restaurant itself is beautiful and very clean. We actually felt a little underdressed when we walked in, but they treated us like we fit right in, even though we showed up in sweats.
We started with the garlic dip, which was super garlicky, cheesy, and absolutely delicious--a must-try. My wife ordered the Mill House Pasta, which was rich, cheesy, and full of flavor, with perfectly cooked chicken and shrimp. I ordered a burger that was slightly on the dry side but still very tasty, and the truffle fries were fantastic--crispy, flavorful, and addictive.
Overall, it was easily a 4.5-star visit with great service, great food, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
And we did go back-one week later-this time sitting at the bar. We both ordered cocktails, and the drinks were excellent. I had two different styles of Old Fashioneds and really enjoyed both. My wife had two martinis and loved them.
For food, we tried the chicken Caesar wrap with fries, and my wife ordered the half sandwich and salad combo. The wrap was honestly one of the best I've ever had--the chicken had a great char, and there was plenty of dressing. My wife really enjoyed her BLT; it had the perfect amount of bacon and was put together really well.
At this point, I think we've found our new go-to spot in Downtown Lufkin. Can't wait to go back!

The reason I won't go back is they don't offer my brand of beer. Miller Lite is pretty popular, I don't understand why it isn't offered.

First visit and l loved my food. Tomato basil soup 10/10. Well served 👏 and the club sandwich 🥪 👌 😋 . A little detail, not for sure but l think they only use white bread. They didn't offer me options 😔 but definitely l'd come back ☺️

The mill house is not a kid family restaurant. Super duper nice. Smells so good. The wait staff is so sweet. We made a reservation and sat down Immediately. I am very pleased with the atmosphere 😃 the food menu was so nice. But one thing is my food came out cold. They forgot about my ceaser salad but they did not charge us

We tried a variety of shareables: GENTLEMEN'S BOARD FIG & PROSCIUTTO CROSTINI BROWN BUTTER SCALLOPS & ROASTED GARLIC DIP! Everything was delicious. Our server Brandon went above and beyond to accommodate our party of eight. He made it an extraordinary experience. Wonderful service! We polished off our night with entertainment by Lyle Lovett at the Temple Theater. Thanks again to The Mill House!!

First off the Sangria was delightful. I liked the small shareable plates versus the big dinner plates. My husband was opposite me. Haha🤣 The recommended warm Chocolate Lava Cake with vanilla ice cream, fruit, Carmel & Raspberry sauce was shared and Great!!!
