We tried this place because my wife was wanting breakfast for lunch. You order at the counter, and they bring the food to you. The food had pretty big portions. They was out of coffee but made some fresh for us. The food tasted good. They do bring it out one at a time though. It's definitely worth checking out.

Rooster is a cozy little spot to grab a breakfast sandwich or a full breakfast. There weren't any patrons when we arrived, but could tell they were busy with online orders. I had a breakfast croissant (sausage, fried egg) and an order of hash browns. The sandwich was really tasty, but the hash browns were Very salty and I didn't eat all of them. Otherwise, the atmosphere was chill. After about 10-15 minutes, people began to coming inside. I liked Roost and would stop in for a quick sandwich to go.

I have been wanting to eat here a while. However, I was a little disappointed. I ordered the avocado toast with a fried egg because the cashier recommended it. My husband got the chicken fried steak with fries and toast. Our daughters got chicken fried chicken with fries and the Monte Cristo.
My avocado toast was very bland. It had no flavor. My husband's chicken fried steak looked like a pre-battered frozen patty. It was very thin and lacked flavor. The fries were good. My daughter said that the bread on her monte Cristo tasted like eggs and the raspberry preserves were bitter. My other daughter did like her chicken fried chicken. The gravy tasted heavily of bacon grease. It was so strong it over powered anything you ate with it. I have heard that their chicken salad is very good. The cashier was nice and the restaurant was decent.

I've been here several times. The food is always great, service too... especially today when I choked on a pickle! I mean, I really CHOKED... I couldn't get ANY air for a short time.
It hurt my throat then it burned. However, the staff was FANTASTIC!! So helpful and courteous. They even gave me a free key lime pie!!!
Thanks guys!!

My Brother from another Mother took me to The Roost for lunch today to celebrate my Birthday. This was my first time visiting this restaurant, and I was very pleased with the entire experience. The food was very good and reasonably priced. We'll be back!

Atmosphere and service is great here. Food isn't priced right. It's so basic here. Menu on photos on Google are old. All prices have increased, some by $3. I wouldn't come back here. Spent over $20 for an extremely basic breakfast.

Breakfast is mediocre at best. Lunch options are good but very disappointed that fish and shrimp was removed from the menu. Was the best grilled fish in lufkin and now is sadly gone.
