Meats and Sweets is the epitome of small town hospitality! You can’t go wrong with anything that you choose from their menu! The staff is always friendly and attentive! The burgers are always amazing (the elote and poblano burgers are *chefs kiss*) and everything is made fresh to order. Their coffees are phenomenal, great quality and they make their own specialty syrups! Not many places take the time to really make things from scratch like they do, and it makes such a difference. The Bulldog breakfast sandwich is THE BEST, I have never had a better breakfast sandwich. This is a wonderful local spot who loves their community, it's a gem of Willacy county and the entire RGV!

If you have a chance you have to try this place out. Got an opportunity to today and it was awesome. Tried their Chorizo Power burger and it was unquestionably unique. My taste buds didn’t know what was happening. Their fries are some of the best I’ve ever had. In combination it was a delicious experience. To accompany this brunch I tried their Camp Fire S’mores iced coffee. It was whoa. Their service was excellent. Enjoyed it so much, I decided to come back and get some brisket and sausage for dinner. I wasn’t prepared for the awesomeness that was about to ensue. By far some of the best bbq I’ve ever had. This place is a one stop shop of flavor.

If you want a quiet, quaint place for a great burger or brisket sandwich this little gem in the small town of Lyford is for you. The staff is efficient and friendly, the prices are great and the food amazing. I had the brisket sandwich and it was tender and had an amazing flavor. I have never had fries like theirs and I really don’t know how to describe them. My husband got the double meat burger and couldn’t eat it all. The tea was fresh and we definitely will be back.

This BBQ place is a hidden gem; we almost missed it but thankfully our car windows were down and you could smell the BBQ smoking. Came here with my family while passing through on a road trip and we were all happy that we decided to stop. Even my selective eating teen loved the his meal. The smash burgers were amazing and big too. Daughter had the Holy Guacamole burger, also delighted, and I had the chopped brisket sandwich which was the best I’ve ever had. Service was great from start to finish. Atmosphere was friendly and welcoming; looks like they support veterans. Also had games (dominos and tic-tac-toe) for the tables and a small little kids area too. Meets and Sweets might need to be a necessary stop for us on the way to/from South Padre for now on, it is a must try.
Awesome place! My kids loved their smash burgers and the fries! I had the Bull Burger and it was excellent! We will be back from Waco Tx!

Just heard about this place and had to try it. They have all sorts of meats and sweets. We decided to try the smash burgers, and they were awesome. They had that nice crispy char on the patty. The fries were perfectly cooked ac had a nice seasoning on them. Have to go back and try the rest of the menu. Service was awesome and friendly. The only complaint is that it was a little warm inside. Other than that, it was a great find. I highly recommend it.
