We havent been to Bar be que Hut in a minute but tonight thats what we chose. Order 1 potatoe with meat and 1 refular no bacon bits but extra everything else. Never had issues here before but my potatoe no bits had bots and very little chives or sour cream. Not upset. I still left a good review. I just oicked the bits off

Bar-B-Que Hut is a classic no-frills Texas BBQ spot located at 31608 Old Hempstead Rd in Magnolia—think roadside hut with some outdoor seating. It's the kind of place that looks a bit rundown from the outside (don't let that fool you), but I swear by it for solid, affordable barbecue and comfort sides. It's mostly takeout/dine-in casual, with generous portions and friendly staff.
I tried the Frito Pie (Frito Pit on the menu) with onions added—Fritos topped with chopped beef, beans, cheese, and those optional onions. It's exactly what you want from a Texas Frito Pie: crunchy, hearty, smoky from the chopped brisket, and that perfect messy-in-a-good-way vibe. The beef is tender and flavorful without being overly saucy, and adding onions gives it a nice sharp kick that cuts through the richness. Really good, super satisfying, and a great value—definitely hits the spot if you're craving something fun and indulgent.
The mac 'n' cheese side stood out too. It's creamy and comforting, not overloaded with salt, if any (which is a huge plus if you're sensitive to that or just want something milder). It's a straightforward, homemade-style mac that's cheesy without being heavy or greasy—perfect for anyone looking for a decent, crowd-pleasing version that doesn't overpower the meal.
Overall, this is authentic local BBQ done right: nothing fancy, but consistent, tasty, and portion-packed. If you're in Magnolia or passing through, it's worth pulling off for—especially if you want real Texas flavors without the hype. I'd rate it a solid 4.5/5 for what it is: unpretentious and delicious. Highly recommend the Frito Pie with onions and grabbing mac 'n' cheese on the side!
I forgot to take a photo of the Frito Pie due to enjoying it, but here is an up close of the M&C!

By far my favorite BBQ place in magnolia. I live in Willis now but I drive once or twice a month to magnolia to get a fully loaded hacked potato from them. It’s always slammed packed with toppings and I just can’t recommend them enough. Super yummy! Definitely try it out!

Others reviews said it's not a fancy place, they don't have to be, the food is awesome, the ranch potatoes are Other level. The service excellent.

BEST BBQ IN MAGNOLIA. Hands down, the best of everything BBQ and the most polite and wonderful staff. Priced so it's affordable and a selection like you wanna see and every backyard texas BBQ. Every meat we have tried has been packed with flavor and all made even better with that awesome BBQ sauce. Each side has a lil something extra you'd expect and a family gathering. A delicious and bright twist to a few of the sides will keep you coming back for more. The sweet tea is thirst quenching and light enough to down a half gallon without noticing. Last but not least, the desserts. The desserts are absolutely incredible and delicious from the variety of cobblers to the interesting, yet undeniably scrumptious pineapple fluff and Watergate salad. Do not, I repeat, do not leave there without desserts.

Just like I remembered, I used to come here when it was by the railroad track
Great place, food is really great. The brisket was a little dry but not too bad. It was close to closing so that can be normal. Definitely will be back
Great stop. Good food and service.
