We drove from College Station just to celebrate my birthday! First time here and it won't be our last! We were welcomed with opens arms and delicious food from across the pond! Don't miss the opportunity to stop here for breakfast, lunch or dinner!
Yummy hidden gem way up north.

No matter if it’s to-go or dine in, this place is wonderful! They have a long history in Texas and have an interesting story behind their name…like an old friend, it will touch your heart.
They have true roots in England and I have been here multiple times to my great satisfaction. I’ve had multiple dishes off the menu depending on my mood but I’m always left warm and full.
They have special dinners as well, but you have to pay attention as they love to change the courses based on the season and possibly the chef’s whimsy! However, the Sunday Roast is a staple…btw it’s BYOB and I just enjoyed a cheap bottle of wine with far better food!

Great fish and chips, can't wait to come back and try more items! Great service.
Great food and great price! The inside was so cozy and full of knickknacks while still being very clean. Nothing on the menu was over 15$ but all of the food was great quality. The chips were my highlight! Also the soup of the day was a nice touch, we had the mexican black bean that was hardy, silky brothed, and had perfectly softened vegitables without being mushy. The waiter was very friendly and helpful! Also my vegan mother appreciated he selection of vegan options.

This place was a total wonderful surprise! For my job traveling all over the Houston area, I eat out almost every day. I wound up at this place and got the Fish & Chips... absolutely the best I have eaten anywhere! I don't even get Fish & Chips anywhere anymore, because Pengus has spoiled me. Their soup of the day is always delicious ... and I've had several! I've been back several times, have taken my wife there, have introduced some other friends who have gone and the opinions are unanimously excellent. You don't go there for the atmosphere ... it's a shack. Without exception, every meal I've had there has been excellent. I wish they were open more days of the week. If you're in the area on a Thursday - Sunday, check it out.

This was the absolute worst food, and service. Sweet tea tasted nasty and paid $7.50. The crab cake states on menu real crab. The crab was imitation, and over fried and nasty. The grease was not changed and the fries were also nasty. We ordered catfish and the fish appeared to be cod. Lastly, I ordered shrimp cocktail which was the special on Friday which came out completely raw. I will never patronize this restaurant. I suggest Pengus take his name off this restaurant. We were told this restaurant was bought out by new owners; who obvious do not care about food quality or safety. We paid over $125 for horrible food and service.

We ate here after going to TRF. We got cottage pie and lamb roast. We also tried their custom drinks and coffee. My bf got a lavender lemonade and I got dr pepper with cheesecake flavor. We also got complementary coffee and 3 bean soup. The soup was phenomenal! The salad we got was fresh with quality ingredients. The cottage pie was huge and cooked perfectly. But the real star was the lamb roast. The gravy the yorkshire pudding the giant mushrooms mashed potatoes and roasted potatoes. All together made the perfect bite. The food quality and preparation are outstanding. The serves we received was just as amazing. This is probably the best British restaurant in all of Texas maybe even the United States.
