I've been to Doxa a few times in the last few months and this recent visit's experience has weighed heavily on my mind. I usually order a cappucino or iced coffee. I was interested in their cortado and have had it elsewhere and it was made differently. To ensure I know what I'm getting, I asked what was in the cortado and the lady taking my order who was so nice up until this point, and switched her mood. She didn't seem to like my question and looked me down and very slowly explained what a cortado was, as if I needed to be spoken to slowly. I felt uncomfortable and just said that I have had a few cortados elsewhere and she just kept the same face. When I received my drink, I noticed I wanted it to be a bit sweeter so I asked if they could add more, and even offered to pay since I understand it was an extra. Another girl who was working here stared me down and just nodded her head and rolled her eyes and added it. She shot down my offer to pay extra. I remained polite and thanked her for accommodating me, but neither of their attitudes changed. I could tell that neither of the wanted me to be there, and they did not want to speak to me
I just don't understand how my questions and requests needed to be met with disrespect. As someone who is branching out on where to get coffee in Austin or ordering a new drink, this is so stifling. Not everyone is going to know how YOU make your cortados. Asking questions eliminates a returned drink, however these weren't welcomed either.
Everyone knows South Austin is where the culture is at, this feeling and how Doxa presented themselves does not reflect this.

I was on a business trip and found Doxa Coffee Roasters’ food truck at Way South Food Park. Ray is a genuine and friendly person with a bright smile. She served a really good pumpkin spice latte. Also, at Way South, there is a playground for children in a corner and picnic tables for meeting with a friend or family. I highly recommend trying out Doxa Coffee and Way South Food Park if you want to get away from the fast-pace of city living.

Not a big coffee drinker but I needed some caffeine! So, I checked out Doxa, grabbed a latte and it was just what I needed! The code is excellent and the service was exquisite! I’ll definitely be coming back?

Went there around 1:30 on 9/21/24 and there was a really sweet girl who helped me order my coffee. I asked if they could do a cold foam and the girl was trying her best to help me out and make a coffee I would like. As the girl is trying to make my coffee another girl that worked there walked past the window saying “this isn’t Starbucks” as if I wasn’t right there. It was extremely rude. She than proceeds to kinda raise her voice at the girl whom was making my coffee telling her “we don’t do cold foam” and the poor girl was like well we could try!
Such a shame. First time at doxa and will most likely be my last.

Not only is this my favorite coffee in Austin, but their Klobasneks are the BEST I have ever had! This is our favorite Saturday morning stop. My husband and I really love their coffee beans at home too.

Matcha is not good. I got a matcha latte with vanilla. Couldn’t taste any vanilla. The matcha was not mixed in all the way, you could see it all go to the bottom of the cup. Honestly just tasted like a cup of milk.

Doxa Coffee is absolutely delicious! I’ve enjoyed every drink I have gotten! My only issue is some of the employees aren’t very friendly. There’s one girl in particular that just gives me bad vibes every time I go. I feel like a bother to them. But hey… sometimes it’s just people’s personalities. Great coffee though!

This is the best latte you can get in the south Austin/Manchaca area ! Also a nice space for your kids and dogs to play. Other good looking food trucks around it. I love this area of the city where things start getting more quiet and peaceful. The baristas were friendly to me when I asked if I could make an Instagram video about their spot. hope to be back!

The latte was good. The espresso not very much it was watered down idk how but it looked like ice tea. And the 2 different girls working there aren’t very friendly, if you ask about anything they act like a bothered teen.
