“We went here for the first time tonight and LET ME TELL YOU we will absolutely be back. For starters, the environment is super cool. Jazz music in the background (owner Mike said they have live musicians on weekends too!!) and it was so relaxing. A really cool space. The owner Mike told us they make EVERYTHING from scratch, even their own meats! The food is INCREDIBLE we got pad Thai, spicy sausage rice and the egg rolls. Everything is amazing and so delicious. It was hard driving home in the car with the smell of these aromatics!!! I’d like to also mention how down to earth, kind and cool the owner Mike is! He told us a bit about his family and the business. Definitely recommend this spot guys. Authentic locally/family owned, scratch-made kitchen and beautiful venue. Thanks Mike! We will be back! Josie and Chris”
“So good! First time visiting this food park in the Onion Creek area of South Austin. A surprisingly large amount of parking spaces behind the food park. Overhead awnings cover you from heat but don't think it's good enough for rain. A tiny little play area to occupy little ones and tons of mulch to run around in. Pet friendly. The tacos were bomb. Grilled onions and salsas were great compliments to the Al Pastor Mini Tacos. You can also get chicken or bistec tacos but mine were fire! If you live close they are on DoorDash which could be clutch since they are that good.”
“Mike bbq's some amazing food, he is also a huge supporter of veteran charities and goes out of his way to to please his customers. I will always support this business when I can just because it's absolutely delicious.”
“Really enjoyed my meal! The food came out super fast, which I always appreciate, but it was super hot and clearly fresh. Especially loved the egg rolls and thought the spiciness level of my noodles was just right (I got level 2 out 3 and it was just spicy enough). The food truck park here is also really nice, great ”
“Review is for Simpson's BBQ Food Truck, not the actual location if they have one. They were at the HEB Symphony with a bunch of other food trucks. The line was 30+ people deep when we got our food. My partner really wanted reasonably priced barbecue, so here we waited. You can estimate about 1.5-2 minute wait per person (took us about 30 minutes with 20ish people). The prices are very reasonable, but you get what you pay for. The nachos had barely any meat and the meat was dry. It was a respectable amount of nachos that were a good snack or light meal, though, and they were better priced than other food trucks. I'd go for two hot dogs over nachos next time if I wanted to have a meal.An extra star for the nice lady collecting ticket numbers that was patient in explaining customization options while waiting, including lemonade flavors.”
“The Mi Ranchito burrito is good - comes topped with queso and avocado slices and has a lot of meat inside and the salsa options are good too (though none are particularly spicy). I’ve tried a couple tamales and they’re fine but didn’t stand out as anything special. We come here occasionally and the food is consistent and employees are friendly - glad to live close by and have this as an option”
“This place has a lot of potential. It’s a cool environment- kinda funky. I’ve never seen over thirty people in there though. Got a big outside area. It’s just down Manchaca. Not too far from the bars that started getting crazy recently (Armadillo, Moontower, SABG) yet still that chill. Like I said- lots of potential. It’s cool right now regardless.”
“They do catering at our office and I’m glad they’ve vegetarian option in terms of veggie taco. It has some fajitas, beans, onions, cilantro and cheese to top it with. You can choose flour or corn tortillas for tacos. And it comes with either spicy red salsa or mild green salsa. And lemon wedges. It was good experience.”
“This is the best food truck, I can’t believe it’s not a brick and mortar. I literally can’t drive by. Everything is great. I like the shrimp poboy. Please try fries”
“Went to Clark’s Oyster Bar for lunch and had a wonderful anniversary celebration. The service was really attentive and friendly, with little details like a happy anniversary postcard on the table when we arrived. Sat outside, set back from the road, under a tree and their lovely yellow awnings, it was great to be outside. Cocktails were beautifully crafted, with strong flavours and a good amount of alcohol, and food arrived timely to the table. We had Oysters to start, which looked beautifully presented on a large metal dish of crushed ice with shaved horseradish and condiments, as well as the most delicious starter in their Tuna Carpaccio. This is an amazingly crafted dish, how they get their tuna to such a thin yet beautifully firm and flavoursome presentation shows real craft, complimented by all the olives, capers & sunflower sprouts, it’s a star dish. We had the lobster roll, a staple dish which could easily be shortcut, but every detail has gone in to elevate this dish too. The brioche roll was caramelised perfectly, huge perfect lettuce leaves cradled a very generous amount of delicate lobster, and a huge bowl of rosemary shoestring fries and a fresh ‘slaw to side, it just looked amazing and tasted so too. Finished off with a delicious key lime pie, and a torched Swiss meringue on the side, this was one of the best of many meals we had on our holiday to the USA. Highly recommend and would certainly go back if we visit Austin again and try their evening sitting, which I imagine with the fairy lights in the tree’s, would be just as magical. Thank You.”
“Shout out to our server, Nate! Everyone else was fun, courteous, and welcoming too. . The restaurant is innovative with some awesome drink and food creations. Perfect from start to finish!!!”
“Great date night spot. Little pricey, since you have to order many plates with them being small-ish, but the quality of the food made it okay for us.Few favorites - the pork/scallion rolls, cornbread, brisket, the drinks - all so good. Honestly we were happy with all of the plates we ordered - something that doesn’t happen often for us at many Austin restaurants.. but we appreciated the flavors of the dishes at Kemuri.Service was great as well, very timely- our server was attentive and funny, gave us recommendations and checked on us the perfect amount.”
“The Crust was amazing! Then you add to that amazing, slightly crunchy and deliciously chewy crust, a variety of toppings so fresh and flavorful along with combinations I never tasted and you have Pizza Perfection! I can't wait to get back.Vegetarian options: Pesto and Cherty tomatoes.....DeliciousFig, Arugula and Balsalmic..... Nothing Like it!”
“Favorite restaurant in Austin. The food is sooo tasty, the chicken karage covered in that sauce is all I ever want. The structure of paying and ordering at the bar and then just getting to leave when you are done eating is how I want every restaurant to be. I have never waited more than 7-10 minutes for the food I ordered to make it to the table. I bring everyone who visits me in Austin here.”
“Great little Speakeasy that was a real speakeasy during prohibition.Tucked under Moonshine, the vibe was great, bar tenders were fantastic.Reservation is best and check the details.”
“We were blown away by this place! Service was outstanding, but the food was next level. We ordered the salad, shishito peppers and nuts for an appetizer and then came the smash burgers. Everything was so good! We finished our meal with the best carrot cake any of us have ever had. We’re already planning our next visit. Highly recommended!”
“Overall the food is good for the price! Great place to come w groups. They don’t take reservations but they do have a waiting list and we only had to wait 20 mins which wasn’t bad. The live music is a bit loud but gives the atmosphere a nice touch. The cuisine was good, the Pad See Ew with beef was the best thing we ate.”
“Best NY pizza outside of NY. I brought some friends here and they really enjoyed it as well. The pizza is thin and crisp yet foldable just like it should be. We ordered a few alices and a whole pie. Also dont forget to get the garlic knots.”
“Wonderful, 2 bite street tacos. get a bunch to try if you want to fill up. My favorites were the carnitas and suadero. Nice outdoor seating area with other food trucks to try from ”
“First off, they are incredibly friendly and easygoing. Just being here makes you feel good.Next, their coffee. They let me try a sample of their drip coffee and it was fantastic. Flavorful, fun, fruity, balanced. I ordered a pour over (pink bourbon) and it was expertly made. Perfect extraction, clean, smooth, full fruity goodness. So, naturally, I had to get back in line and order an espresso drink. Again, so so so good. Perfect extraction on the espresso made for one of the most delicious cortados I’ve ever had.Important to note that they seem (at least at the time of me writing this) to specialize in fruitier, funkier natural processed coffees. So if that is your style then you will LOVE this place as much as I do.Also important to note that this is served out of a food truck. So there is no indoor seating, but plenty of wonderful outdoor seating. Also all drinks are served in to-go cups, so consider bringing your own cup if that’s your style :)”
“Live music, good food, excellent beverage selection, hospitable staff, and plenty of seating. What's not to like?Close to a variety of other venues located in downtown Austin. This is quite the happening place with loud music, dancing and exotic cars.Parking: We took an Uber. There's a lot of construction and traffic is a bit thick. Best to just get dropped off and picked up. Once your downtown walking around is half the fun.”
“I had the jalapeno cheddar sausage and the spinach feta. These were one of the most delicious things I've had in Austin. They were packed full and very good size for the price. Warm and fresh ingredients flavorful dough. Fast and friendly service. Highly recommend!”
“So glad we found this place! We were next door getting our car washed and the owner of the car wash recommended we go across the street to get a drink while we waited. The vibe in this pace was so cool. A friend that was with us said that the place felt like something from a movie scene. The bartender was very nice. I had the frozen Irish coffee. It was SO good!! I love souvenirs and the was excited to keep my cup. We will definitely be stopping there next time we are in Austin!”
“Every part of my experience here was spectacular. Our server Lorenzo was lovely and personable even with how busy it was. They also gave me great dish recommendation (Migas) that I ended up adoring and completely devouring. The coffee was delicious, and there was no up charge for dairy free milk, which I appreciate. All the food was so well seasoned that I took turns eating each individual item and then had fun mixing and matching the items on my plate. The grilled blueberry cornbread ? just wow. Game changer and perfect end to the meal. The art they had up and their chalkboard bathroom stall walls made the whole experience all the better.100% would tell everyone to go here.Dietary restrictions: They don't upcharge for dairy free milk, which is an appreciated rarity.”
“Post 2024 April 8th eclipse visit, got in line with my wife at 11:45. Had multiple visits from the employees stating that we were in the "probably not going to get food" part of the line; my wife convinced me to stay the course. Got up to the ramp and had another disclaimer that "all the guarantees were inside the door", stayed the course. Got inside and began to count people past the "guarantees", +1, +2, +3.... There's still a chance... Finally, there were about 6 people in front us, we got the, "there's just brisket, ribs and turkey left". I'm thinking to myself, what were people ordering? That's the best stuff! Got up there, ordered some brisket, ribs and got the last of the turkey! Never loved BBQ more in my life, I mean my wife. My wife.Turkey was alright, ribs were good.Brisket can't be beat!Little over two hours in line, but the payoff was worth it. Thank you, Franklins!”
“What a lovely spot in downtown in Austin! They have a fantastic and thoughtful cocktail menu and fantastic spirit selection. I enjoyed a pour of local Texas Whiskey Milam & Greene ?”
“Relaxing and top tier. Much better atmosphere for enjoying bbq. Friendly staff. The brisket is some of the best I’ve had. The Mac and cheese and potato salad are unique. Bbq as it’s meant to be experienced, in the backyard, with a cold drink, with shade and sun readily available. Saddle Up close by to get a cold drink.”
“My first time at Terry's. Best barbeque I've tried. Beef ribs melt away. The brisket is very juicy & tasteful. Peach cobbler delicious. Can't wait to try again.”
“Perfectly prepared Seafood, comfortable but elegant ambiance, and a great location. A nice high end but low-key spot right near the iconic Austin music spot, Antone’s.The kind crab was perfectly cooked. The braised greens had the subtlest kiss of Serrano pepper. It is seafood with a whisper of the south. The chef is James Beard award winning MASHAMA BAILEY of Savanah, so that makes a lot of sense. The vibe was relaxed but high-end.They bill this as a southern spot. I think it is more a seafood place with a whisper of the South (not to be confused with “Texan cuisine” a cousin but something entirely its own thing.)The restroom is hard to find - it is in the hotel lobby but they do not have good signage. It is buried in the back of a second elevator bank area. They have a neon sign in a different spot announcing that it is NOT the restroom - but nothing of its equal to show you where you should go / where it is.They set up shop diagonally across from Eddie V’s (seafood and chop house) which has been there for decades.Vegetarian options: This was the one area of real opportunity: there were very few options for a vegetarian / vegansDietary restrictions: Greedy for keto and gluten allergy folks!Parking: No garage. No street parking $15 for first 3 hours of valet.Kid-friendliness: Not a kid spot.Wheelchair accessibility: Very wheelchair accessible throughout”
“Our new favorite. The ciders are great. There is a hot cinnamon cider with i liked a lot. Others include cider noir and no. 1. U can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.”
