“I used to come here often but I’ve had to stop my almost weekly visits because the prices have just about doubled:( I get prices go up but to go from $5 to $9 Gorditas and charge a $1 fee for using your cc ! That’s ridiculous!!!! The food is great but I just can’t afford to come as often as I used to.”

“Nothing fancy but the tacos are delicious. The brisket, al pastor, and carne asada were very flavorful and filled just right. The melon and watermelon water is just what we needed on this very hot day. The staff are friendly.”

“Very nice place inside, surprisingly upscale. It was a bit pricey but portions were more than solid and I like the toppings area where you can add as much or little onions + cilantro. As someone who loves trying different sauces they nailed the salsas. The ones that were bottled were closer to the basic stuff you get at taco trucks but the more artisan ones were in sauce containers and the red and verde were specially flavorful. From the looks of it, their ingredients seem pretty high quality and the kitchen is completely visible and looks modern and clean. The meat itself did lack a bit of flavor (for reference I ordered carne asada) on its own but the toppings and selections more than made up for it. I’d say if you live nearby definitely check this place out. Also forgot to mention that the food came out super fast.”

“My wife and I visited last Wednesday on our vacation from Minnesota. The brisket was great, the barbacoa was the best I've ever had anywhere. The onion rings were amazing and I don't personally care for onion rings. The jalapeno cheese chorizo was outstanding. As good as all those were the beef ribs were the best most perfect bite of food I've ever had... But what really stood out is the amazing staff from Evan greeting us as we walked in the door to everyone that we met so helpful kind and cheerful! Having worked in the service industry for most of my life it's always a joy to be treated so well!”

“Just tried Song La for the first time today. Shirley was so incredibly friendly and the food was fantastic. I spent 3 months in Taiwan before moving to Austin and was craving some Taiwanese fried chicken and this hit the spot. Plus, everything is made to order and comes out super fresh (that said, don't come in a rush, make sure you've got a little time to enjoy their new spot at The Thicket and hang for a bit). Whether you've had Taiwanese food before and are craving it or just want to try some incredible fried chicken in a cool South Austin spot, definitely give them a try. ❤”

“In town visiting family from the DFW area and was looking for something that we didn’t have back home. I am always looking for a Cubano that is exactly that. While I like adding different flavors to enhance foods, I wanted a Cubano and that is exactly what I got! The yuka frita was delicious and even better the next day. Sadly this will be something to enjoy while in town next time, but anyone looking for a great Cubano this is the place!”
