Not the place to go for gluten-free food. Most everything is fried or includes flour as a thickener. There was only one gluten-free entree available with grilled food and it was ok. Our waitress seemed angry in general and was very irritated about my request to leave the croutons off the house salad. The spicy boudin and pistol eyes were good. The avocado salad was tough to get through because of how firm it was. The dirty rice was rotten and shouldn't even be called dirty rice. The fried fish was lackluster and could use some seasoning.

We've been going here regularly for 6 years now. Always good food and good service. It's fun when there's a band. I generally get a half oyster half shrimp poboy and my husband likes the gumbo and etouffee. They're muffalettas are good too. It's not as good as NOLA, but it is as good as it gets in Austin and we always leave happy.
