I would like to respectfully start with; I’ve been to Uchi multiple times over the years and will never forget my first experience (which will always be the best in my mind.) That being said — tonight might have been the closest to first I’ve ever had. Chance, our server was attentive, knowledgeable, easy going, brought some of the best plates when we asked “bring us what you like/anything you think we missed” literally 12/10 would recommend. Incredible. As always. I've been coming to Uchi for 25 years and am still absolutely in love.
Our son has always wanted to go to Uchi, so we surprised him with dinner there for his birthday. It was such a wonderful experience, and the entire staff was incredibly kind and welcoming. They even surprised him with an Uchi cookbook signed by the entire staff, which made his birthday so special. We truly appreciated the thoughtful gesture and can't wait to come back!

Based on the reviews, Uchi Austin offers a dining experience that is often described as magical and simply one of the finest. The food is breathtakingly creative, beautifully presented, and every single dish delivers an explosion of flavor. The quality of the ingredients is exceptional. The service is impeccable, attentive without being intrusive, and the atmosphere is sophisticated yet relaxed. Specific popular dishes include the gyutoro nigiri (short rib), hot rock, buta maki, and edamame, described as some of the best. The sushi and sashimi are very fresh. For celebrations, the restaurant provides a signed birthday card, which is very lovely. Whether celebrating a special occasion or simply treating yourself, Uchi Austin is an absolute must visit.
