“It’s a great restaurant, no one can deny that. To go on Tuesday night and finding out the restaurant is completely full and even when we made a reservation, we had to wait for about 20 minutes to be seated. But after I got a little sour of the waiting, the food, the atmosphere and the service just made me forget about it.There is huge variety, and everything is fresh and the presentation is mind blowing. We used to live close by and were going there a good lot. Now that we have moved to Leander, we are coming a lot less but still making the drive.“
“Such a wonderful experience! My boyfriend and I came here for the omakase. Ambiance and service were top tier. The waiters were super attentive and explained each course in depth. The sushi chef was nice and friendly. He also explained each sushi course, letting us know where the fish came from and such. The nigiri was melt in your mouth. And other courses were also pretty tasty. I definitely recommend their omakase!“
“I’ve been sitting on this review for a while. I’m definitely not one to tarnish any 5 star ratings!! My experience was mixed. In part by the fact that I’ve spent countless moments at midnight trying to get reservations with no luck. When I finally snagged my first res, I was shocked to be sitting next to a guy that had been multiple times (even in the past week). Most of the others also had the good fortune to be “frequent patrons”. There was one other person who said she’d been trying to grab a reservation for a while. TBH, really didn’t sit right with me.As we all know, these reviews are opinion based only. I can only give my honest assessment of my experience. The vibe seemed catered to a younger crowd for sure. I definitely felt out of place. The “F” word was used quite liberally by the staff. No big deal, just kind of off pudding when you’re paying so much. Again, I realize this may not be a popular opinion. Unfortunately we also got on the topic of church camp and “those types” which stung quite a bit since I have a strong faith base. Not really the fault of the staff but she was very much in agreement to the conversation. I am not suggesting that the chef participated in any of these convos because he didn’t.Yes, the food and drinks were absolutely delicious. I got the extra cocktail menu where we get a fun drink paired with some of the courses and also participated in the extra course which was way too fishy and slimy for me. All in all, my bill was slightly over $400. Since I just didn’t have the best experience, needless to say, it was too expensive for me.My biggest suggestion would be to not go solo.Parking: Very difficult to find.“
“Sato san is a great sushi chef, who has a great passion for his art. I tried the 45 min omakase experience and it was great. He concisely explains every dish. The food is excellent and staff is friendly, definitely a must go spot for omakase in “
“This is an EXPERIENCE and your tastebuds will WEEP. A spot you cannot pass up. Money is well worth the night you will have here. Two things to start off with:1) Pay the extra for the add-ons and the booze accompaniments if you can stomach it. I am a tiny woman so I did not add in the alcohol but added a wine for my meal and added one "add-on" to a dish. If you are paying a large amount of money for food - might as well go all the way. It's times like these I curse myself for having a small stomach.2) Book in advance and when you book our chefs said if you book the LAST seating they are sometimes able to give extra bites for an additional cost (again - if you have a big appetite this is a no brainer!)Let's start off with the location. Our Uber dropped us off and the driver along with myself and my husband had no idea where to go LOL. Who would've thought it'd be in a home! Super cute and once inside it is a really cool dining experience. You approach the hostess who asks if you'd like to add-on to your sushi pieces - we added black truffle to one and then presented us with a complimentary cocktail a grapefruit and rosemary spritz which was actually delicious which was surprising to me as I am not a grapefruit girl! She then had us wait in the lounge area for the rest of our dining group!Once inside the room I would compare it to a Michelin dining experience as you are treated with the utmost respect, the restaurant is spotless and these sushi chefs know what they are doing. The care put into their work is mesmerizing. It is actually BETTER than Michelin dining because it's laid back and full of laughs and conversation. It was a two hour meal of fun! We got to know the chefs and the other diners. The time flew by!This meal was 17 courses and we found that there were only 2 we weren't HUGE on. Majority of the bites were a 90% wow and there were I think 5 that were 100% popping eyes out of sockets WOWZA's. The fish are shipped in from parts of Japan, Indonesia and New Zealand to name a few. Everything was so fresh and vivid. I just find omakase to be an out of body experience. The different textures, flavours and the knowledge these chefs have to plate items together to perfect flavour combinations is mind blowing.I won't describe EVERY bite because this review is already quite lengthy - HOWEVER; I would love to write about the showstoppers. The Shima Aji (striped jack), the Chu toro (medium fatty tuna), the Japanese Mackerel, the OTORO (Fatty tuna), the A5 wagyu and the unagi which was the last bite with bone marrow and I am sorry - it was one of the best things I had ever tasted. Our chef said it is kind of a cheat code because it's fat on fat but oh my days was it ever HEAVEN ON EARTH. Not only were these bites OUT OF THIS WORLD but this wasn't the end - there was a green tea with ginger sauce and it was the best tea I had ever had. Even more promising was the fact my husband, who HATES tea (weirdo, I know) said the tea was outstanding. Please tell us how to make this tea or where to buy it! It is life changing! It was a great palate cleanser and great digestive aid after all of those bites. Lastly, we were surprised with a dessert. I have never gotten a dessert in my two other omakase experiences and it was honestly just unlike any dessert I had ever taken. This was a Michelin dessert through and through. It was a black sesame seed ice cream with meringue and a lemon curd and it had some seeds or something. I don't even know. I think I went deaf when they were explaining the items to me because I just was in my own Lala land of mouth pleasure! The only bites we didn't care for were the everything bagel bite - this felt too Americanized for us and totally overtook the fish flavour at the end. We also felt the sea bream was a bit bland. But 2 dishes out of 17 with a dessert and phenomenal tea are not going to stop us from coming back again! Please treat yourself. It is something every sushi fan MUST try.“
“The portions are large, and it’s worth around $40 for two. They also have a keto bowl too. I love to make my own bowl. I really like all options they have like the jalapeño is nice and spicy and the crispy onion and nori and seaweed just makes everything go well together. I got the salmon and tuna and they were cut into nice cubes size. I do wish they have more fish options but it was delicious.“
“I've never enjoyed sushi more than I did when I visited Neighborhood Sushi. Unique menu items, SUPER fresh fish/seafood, a great space, and impeccable service. I was visiting Austin for only a few days, but I wish that I lived there so that I could partake in this experience (and it IS an experience, not "just" a meal) again and again. Thank you, Steven, for an incredible afternoon!“
“The nigiri in my experience was better than the rollPlace is a little expensive for the limited menuUsed to going to hando in houston and paying half the cost for more food.Everything was very good though would go back. New little Korean owned spot“
“Tatsumi is my favorite sushi spot whenever I'm in the mood for high quality fish and great vibes. I'm always impressed by the sushi selection. Tiffany the owner is always so kind and always checks in to make sure we're having a good time. Her team is always so helpful and during our last visit we had the pleasure of being hosted by Vin-- who btw is always very knowledgeable about the menu and fish options. Tatsumi never disappoints!“
“Phenomenal service! It was such an amazing experience. This is my favorite omakase by far. The sushi was crafted with such care and attention. The rice was so so good! The combination of techniques and flavors really made the whole service so special. This place should be on everyone’s shortlist for Austin!“
“I really love this place. I generally prefer vegetables and they have a huge selection of veggie "sushi". I've had good sushi their too. It's all very fresh. Also great baked dishes...chicken, fish, etc. I like their noodles too.Vegetarian options: Lots of good stuff!“
“I was walking by the food park when I noticed something new. This place is towards the back of the park, right next to Bananarchy.cI had the agedashi salad with spicy tuna and hamachi temakis. Honestly pretty fresh and filling! I wish them the best of success to be selling sushi out of a food truck. The only other food truck that could make good sushi et al was Dawa back in the day.“
“The sushi is tasty and inventive great combinations of flavors. Friendly service and great atmosphere. I enjoy the great service and friendly wait staff. It is my favorite restaurant to go to. I love the Something Wrong roll and their Sushi Bomb.“
“Wandered in on a Sunday to find happy hour going. Martinis are on point, both the sashimi and rolls were decent. The bar is a bit of a vibe, filled up pretty quickly within 30 minutes of opening. The service is good and our food came out at a good pace. I’ll definitely be back in to check out more dishes.“
“Just WOW. We were staying across the street at The Proper and my daughter wanted sushi so we headed over. From start to finish the food and the service were impeccable. Our server was Linwood and he was very knowledgeable and patient, but the other servers who dropped off food were just as personable. We were given yellowtail sashimi as a free starter and then our waiter gifted us short rib something that was amazing for my son's birthday. We had so much fun, the food was amazing, and the servers were lovely. We will definitely come back when we are in Austin and will head to Uchi when we are at home in Dallas!“
“Delicious! They claim Japanese and Taiwanese, but it’s kind of an Asian varietal! The handmade dumplings and wontons are ridiculously delicious. The sushi is fresh and tasty. The beef claypot was good but it had very little beef only 6 pieces with lots of carrots and mushrooms. Our service was awesome. I can’t wait to go back. The prices were reasonable for the quality.“
“The rolls were good and looked great but the menu options were all very simple and most of the "specialty rolls" are all very similar. It's good but there are much better places to visit with more flavorful and inventive menu items for the same if not less cost.“
“The one of best restaurant i have been ever. The chef, Kaz is so friendly and really nice to talk as well as other staff. All food is also wonderful, especially fish came directly from Japan and Texas wagyu are so delicious. They have many kinds of Sake and I could choose best suits i wanted have today from ones they let me try. I I enjoyed too. Obviously come back when I travel to Austin again.“
“Our go to sushi spot in Austin. Always good, reasonably priced, and reliable. They even have booths to mimic seating on a Japanese floor.Vegetarian options: Cucumber roll, agedashi tofu, miso soup, edamame vegetable tempura, and moreParking: When busy can be hard to find parking. May be able to park in lots next door, but not sure of towing policy. Entrance to parking lot is narrow and easy to miss.Kid-friendliness: The booths are more kid friendly for those with toddlers bc they can semi-walk around inside them without bothering other guests. You can also fit infant car seats comfortably inside and tucked out of the way. But you are required to take off your shoes for the booths“
“Seated immediately when the next door food place had a line out the door. Prices are good and staff attentive. Ordered fried gyoza dumplings, UNAGI roll, avocado roll, and the pork ramen, and a mango drink. Broth to the ramen was great saw many other customers enjoying their bowls with enthusiasm.“
“Vera took very good care of ensuring our great experience! She gave great advice with the sake choices, and made sure we had such a nice experience. The sushi was so good, and so much variety on the menu. The sake was such a delicious choice, thanks to Vera.“
“I planned to go to Chinatown North for dim sum but the sign at the entrance said to head downstairs for dim sum, where Street is below. The waiter said they are connected but different establishments and the dim sum servers upstairs would come from the lower kitchen anyway. I ate here with a close friend after wrapping up weekend meetings in Austin. The place has a good vibe and friendly service, quite modern and clean. We shared six items and everything had great flavor, with the turnip cake and prawn siu mai being my favorites. Above average pricing for dim sum but I think that comes with the experience. Good spot for a date or with friends. I would go back.Parking: Free parking lot around the building.“
“The food here is very good, they serve both sushi and some Thai dishes. I would probably come more if they had a gai pad king dish. The service is excellent, absolutely 5/5 stars every time. One thing I dont like is they dont serve the food together, its first come first serve.“
“If you crave sushi, this is definitely the place to go. Charred edamame was great. Tuna tower was wonderful. Godzilla Bomb was wonderFul. Excellent service!!!! We had lunch in the open air area on a perfect Austin day. Wished I’d taken pictures.Parking: Domain parking is hit or miss. But you can always use free garage parking and walk a bit.“
“Sushi is realllllyyyyy yummy and at a good price! I find that most mid point sushi places slack on quality and freshness, but this place does not cut corners! The lady working there is also really sweet.I had the yellowtail roll, spicy salmon roll, and white tuna nigiri and it came to about $30 including tip.Went back again, 11/18/23 and everything was great! Salmon tartare was super refreshing!“
“Or via the QR code menu. Order EVERYTHING the first time and pay then just relax and enjoy your meal. Everything is better than you expected.Parking: Shared spaces with liquor store, convenience store and Mexican restaurant. Spaces are extremely limited.“
“I got the Bulgogi Bento box, really great value it came with a salad, 2 pieces of a cali roll, two gyoza, tempura and rice!!! So if you want amazing food without breaking the bank go here! The place is small only three actual tables to sit but very worth it, there also is no booze if that is you thing. Staff is very friendly and it’s Pat at the counter.“
“The restaurant has a great selection of delicious and affordable Japanese food. I’ve ordering here for a while now and the fishes are always fresh and the sushi pieces are big. They have an amazing gyoza and special sushi rolls. Also, they offer lunch specials with a great price (Monday to Saturday from 11:00-2:30pm).“
“Really great sushi at a reasonable price! The owner is really friendly as well. Just be prepared to wait on the weekends because it seems to be pretty popular. We waited around 90 minutes on a Friday night but we’ll be sure to order ahead next time.“
“Great place for Sushi and Authentic Korean food!! Most places just give the add on Korean sides that are just ok and good with the meal but man, seriously, the Sides here are delicious!! It's been a minute since I've been here but glad to see that food is still great and customer service is awesome! I highly recommend this place for Korean food“
“This is a great Japanese restaurant. Not only its authentic Japanese food but also I want to mention staff services are one of the best.I like their lunch bento which I can enjoy several dishes in one plate. At dinner, it’s nice talking with sushi chef at the counter and they serve across the counter which is really an exceptional experience that I can feel Japan.“
“I absolutely loved everything. When you finish ordering you can go by the self service area and get you some miso soup. There’s also free water ;)We ordered the shrimp tempura roll and the beef udon. Both hit just right. At the end, we also order the choco fry. It had a mint flavor to it, but I personally liked it.“
“The atmosphere reminds me of the mercados near Mi Tierra, and the owners were very sweet and only added a coziness that was complimented by the beautiful art within the restaurant. The taste of the food here is as immaculate as it is comforting. A perfect place to go for an evening night out with family, friends, and loved ones.“
“I must I have gone to many sushi restaurants. I truly enjoyed this restaurant. The sushi was so fresh and tasty. Great vegetarian options. Well worth the price. I feel you would enjoy the service and ambiance. Great for dining in or takeout. Average money spent will be probably 40 to 80 dollars due to so many great options. Great for leftovers the next day. I will definitely come back again. I don't give 5 stars out very easily. Thank you for Great sushi. Enjoy.“
“Service, you order and pay on a screen, they bring you your food. That said, there's no service. You get your own drinks and everything. They have condiments, napkins, chopsticks, and to-go boxes sitting available for your use.Had One of the bento box lunch specials, which I believe was $16. Was a lot of food, will probably be 1.5 meals worth. It came with a deep fried roll that was very sweet, the normal California style roll, egg roll, pork goyza, Small arugula salad with peanut sesame sauce maybe?, edamame. They forgot the miso soup that came with it, but when reminded, brought it promptly.I have something like crab rangoons we also got, were strange but pretty okay. Probably would not get again as they came in an egg roll like fashion but other than the typical.Friends got Ramen Curry, was really good.“
“WOW! What an amazing hole in the wall. It was our friend’s birthday, and they made it so much more special than expected. Amazing food, amazing service. The owner made and provided the best cheesecake ever (literally ever because I’ve never liked a cheesecake in my life) and such a personalized experience. I will be going here over and over for time to come. DON’T MISS OUT coming here.“
“Update 2/21/2024:Went there again for lunch today and was pleasantly surprised to learn the rude staff is no longer there. The young lady's today were very pleasant and kind. The food was excellent, but the portions still remain a little on the skimpy side. Updating my review from two to four stars.“
“My mom and I went on a Saturday afternoon, it wasn't too busy. Which was really nice for a casual weekend lunch. We got the Shrimp Dynasty and Garlic beef. + the scallion pancake, and shrimp spring rolls. Nicole was our waitress, who was ABSOLUTELY amazing. She was kind, and attentive. She spoke to us like we had been there many times before, Making us feel incredibly welcome. She did an amazing job at providing suggestions on what to eat, as well really delicious wine pairings. The hostess was super nice as well. The whole team who work here are fantastic. The food is super yummy. My biggest regret is not coming to eat in person sooner. As I had only ordered from the sushi menu for delivery. Please stop by! 10/10!“
“My boyfriend took me to Otoko as a surprise for our anniversary and new years eve. All I can say is WOW! It’s difficult to eat normal food after such an incredible experience, I can’t stop thinking about it. The service was absolutely fantastic, very intimate and personal which I loved. Everyone was so kind and friendly. I loved the entire omakase. Every dish I tried was like magic to my tastebuds. I was exhausted after a 16 hour flight the day before and this dinner truly brought me back to life. My boyfriend got the omakase with wine pairings and I got the sake pairing. I will say it is a lot of drinks, but each and every one was well thought out for each portion of the dinner. I hope to come back again and again!“
“My husband and I have been dining at Cho since we dated, and while it's always been good, we had never received exceptional service as we did tonight. Our server, Chess, was very pleasant and made us feel like we were right at home. He was very attentive and customer-oriented. Thank you, Chess, for providing us with world-class service! We'll be back to see you!“
“So many good things to say about this place!1.You walk up and order, so it’s an easygoing start to a great meal2.The menu is straightforward and non fussy: decision fatigue be gone (unless you’re starving and can’t think)3. The restaurant is clean, fresh, trendy, and casual4. The yakitori noodles were hot and flavorful/the steak and shrimp were really fresh too. It’s a basic stir fry with ramen type noodles, a few veggies, and a protein5. The cucumber mint limeade was freshly made - it was not artificial at allThis place is an excellent option if you want quick and fresh sushi/modern Asian menu and some refreshing drink options that you can sip on the go.I’ll be back when I’m in the area. Thanks, Muse!“
“Delicious sushi, I came in for a late lunch and it was pretty quiet inside but everything was fresh and presented well. I forgot to take pictures but the hamachili roll and sake toro sashimi were both very good. Was also offered a nice soup and salad as well.“
“Love poke! All the ingredients look good. Customized my own bowl and got 3 proteins: ahi tuna, salmon, and lobster. You get to pick the sauce that the protein is coated in and I chose Ponzu Citrus. It is too salty for me but I enjoyed eating the bowl with the sweet tamago (egg!) and seaweed salad. The portion is generous! The lid can't even cover the bowl. I dined in for a little bit and took the rest to-go.“
“the man hand pulls the noodles! you can see and taste the love! very good treasure island it was my favorite. super yum yes! VERY WELL PRICED SAKE!!! we thought $10 would get a cup, NO it's the WHOLE BOTTLE!!! simply a great place for any casual occasion.“
“Perfect place for Japanese food. Spectacular sushi, delicious yakitori (like the grilled chicken skewers), and Sapporo on tap. What more could you want?Don’t miss the house salad with the miso dressing. If it weren’t rude, I would have licked the bowl.“
“We came here after the little one wanted nigori, and we saw they have it! We did have to ask for it, specifically, because it's not really on their lunch/brunch menu. However, they kindly obliged! The staff were friendly, and the food was great! We have definitely added this to our regular rotation of restaurants!Kid-friendliness: There were at least 2 other families with young children that were there while we ate. All were welcomed warmly and treated kindly.“
“The sushi was so fresh, creative, amazing experience! We had a tuna tataki appetizer and multiple orders of Nigiri with Hokkaido scallops, New Zealand king, salmon, bluefin tuna, and a longhorn roll, and Fiery Kiss roll which were delicious! We will keep coming back!!!“
“I sat at the sushi bar because I went alone. The restaurant was full so there was a lot of noise and it was difficult to talk to the chefs, but they were very friendly. I found the waitress (Melanie) charming and friendly. She recommended everything she would eat! hahaha. and she was right! It was “

“I went to Lucky Robot for dinner during a family trip to Austin. The food was delicious & our server, Kendra, was super helpful in making suggestions for a gluten intolerant member of our group. We also loved the beautiful decorations and thought the chopstick lamp shades are so cool!Dietary restrictions: Most of the items on the menu accommodated a gluten intolerant member of our group!“
