“I've been thinking about how to write this review since last night, when I visited Bouldin Creek Cafe for dinner after a long day of travel.
Normally I don't have to think very hard, but this place definitely has me searching for new adjectives to describe just how unbelievably good my food was.
Let me just keep it simple. The breakfast tacos contained tofu scramble that I will never forget. I'm going to tell my kids about this tofu scramble. If I ever become a professor, I'm going to teach a class about this tofu scramble. It was the most incredible application of flavor to taste buds I think I've ever had.
The staff were also extremely kind, knowledgeable, and very willing to tolerate my menu-indecision ?.
Even the other customers were kind and friendly. That isn't normally something you can really credit to the establishment, but I have no doubt that the quality of food and the general atmosphere of the cafe had at least something to do with attracting such nice people.
I don't care if you are vegan, vegetarian, omnivorous, or have never eaten a vegetable in your life. You owe it to yourself to come and eat here.

“The ice creams were very delicious, I highly recommend the espresso and strawberry ice cream. They also have baklava and it is very delicious. The employees are very polite and friendly. There is seating both inside and outside. You should definitely try this place“

“From the patient staff to the patient person smoking the meat, this place does everything right!! Just like you can't rush a good smoke, you shouldn't rush a customer and the guys behind the counter helped each customer with patience, laughter and knowledge. We got it all!! First time in Austin and first BBQ in Texas so we wanted a baseline to compare all other to! At this time, it's gonna be rough for anybody to compare, everything we ate was solid!! The Beef Rib is melt in your mouth, fall off the bone, perfect meat fat ratio, smokey delicious goodness and completely stole the show! The other meats are great with that tender smoked goodness but the beef rib is where it's at! We tried three sides as well and the Mexican Corn is off the chain delicious! Smokey, spicey, creamy and addicting! Black's has been doing this for 90 years and it shows, everything was the best! We'll be back and highly recommend you skip the lines at the other places and head over to The Original Blacks!“

“Place is great! It’s consistent with the service, food and atmosphere. Every single family and friend we’ve gathered with absolutely LOVES this restaurant. We have been coming here for years and the tourists that feel it’s a “tourist trap” need to understand what type of restaurant they are walking into- local, great food, service and family owned. Knockout martini is amazing, Bob Armstrong dip is unbeatable. The burritos and beef fajitas are the best by far. We will continue to support Austin’s favorite Tex mex restaurant and clearly the people that matter will too.“

“Visiting in from Houston, we initially decided to get BBQ next door however it was so packed we decided to try El Alma instead and glad we did. Victor was friendly and attentive. Our drinks were perfect and the food was great. The ambient outside the patio was nice as well. Will definitely come back when we are visiting Austin!“

“A solid four star diner. The menu is extensive, and there are many options for anyone with food restrictions, and the seasonal menu is usually good and inspired.

Getting a table can take quite a while most times, and the food and drinks generally take ages to get to the table. The servers are almost always nice and competent, though.

In general, it's a consistent and good dining experience, just expect long wait timed for the table, the food, and the drinks.“

“Very pleasant experience tonight, we got (seemingly) everything on the menu and it was all really good. The food quality seems to be in a rocking spot relative to some experiences we had a couple years back after they relocated to Belterra.

I’m glad we gave them another shot. We look forward to returning soon“

“So happy this Austin classic opened its new location in East Austin. Same delicious, healthy fare in a chill, natural, clean space. Great seating indoors or out. You never feel hurried and leave with a tranquil heart and full belly. Highly recommended!

“We stopped by late this morning to treat my 3 year old to a cupcake. We got the strawberry cupcake and vanilla cupcake. They were both delicious! The shop itself is cute and the staff are very friendly. Next time I will have to try the blue velvet.“

Updating this review in November 2024. The place is still amazing! But had to remove a star for the parking situation. They use a service that requires you to scan a QR code and either pay for parking or get 3 hours free. It is NOT evident that you need to do this and none of the staff mentioned it. A couple weeks later, I got a fine letter. I ended up having to pay "Parking Revenue Recovery Services" a total of a $99 fine. I wish someone at the Salty Sow informed me of this. I would have rather spent that money at the restaurant the next time I visited. Y'all should change this process with your parking vendor.“

“I LOVE Moonlight Bakery! Everything is delicious and the prices are great, too. Not only that, everyone there is so nice.“

“If I had known how good the chorizo breakfast taco was, I would have gotten three and skipped the bacon one (which was still good). SO DELICIOUS. And it wasn’t swimming in grease like a lot of chorizo tends to. The salsa options were also great - I tried both and they added some heat without being overpowering. I also had the green juice and it was a perfect bright & fresh contrast to the tacos. There was a bit of a wait but the place had super chill vibes and I enjoyed getting to read & people watch in the window while I waited. Next time I’m in Austin I’ll definitely be back.“

“First time at Snooze- it’s a pretty standard breakfast spot with tasty food and lots of options. Our server, Fiona, was really positive and super helpful, answering all of our questions on the menu and letting us know how customizable everything is. We really enjoyed our morning here“

“this place has my favorite chocolate croissant & coffee combo ever and i make my boyfriend drive us from out of town so i can satisfy that craving ? he loves this place too though so we both end up with a tray full of treats and yummy pastries and the brown sugar oat latte takes my little tastebuds to coffee heaven with every sip! plus the pastries are sooo cheap? its crazy!! theyre like $3-$5 i think on average and such good quality in my opinion! the employees are kind and helpful and are always working so diligently! i hope they get the raise they so rightfully deserve!“

“The atmosphere and outdoor dining area is beautiful. Ordered wine, rolls, two filets, whipped potatoes and asparagus. All of the food was served warm, not hot. It seemed as if it had been sitting for a bit. I was on a mother daughter trip and did not want to complain.“

“This restaurant surprised me! I was ready to have an unassuming meal that would fix my dim sum craving but I was blown away by the taste of the food and the great service! I would recommend: 1) fried shrimp balls 2) pork and prawn shumai 3) pork buns 4) lavender haze drink. All of
the above went so well together and were exceptional. The service was professional and prompt as well. I normally don’t care about the ambiance of a place but the atmosphere was aesthetic, clean, and pleasing. Would highly recommend!“

Parking: The parking there kind of sucks it right next to the post office and there's a lot of people who go there so get there early and sometimes you have to wait in line but that's all right the food's worth it“
