“Saw this place walking by while day drinking on SoCo. We spotted the bar and went in. Our bartender Sydney was incredible. She made us very good drinks and was amazing company. She was working harder than anyone I’ve seen making all drinks in the bar. Without Sydney our experience would have been diminished.“
“Jamya was our server, and she was truly AMAZING. Seldomly do you go somewhere where the waitress is so positive, attentive, and knowledgeable of the menu, but she knocked it out of the park. Great food, great atmosphere, but the BEST server!“
“Our server, Shay, was amazing! Very friendly, asked us questions to see what we liked. Always came and checked on us if we needed anything. She was very helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend if you’re visiting or even live here! Thank you for such a great experience! I recommend the Apple fritter French toast and the bacon!“
“Get the Thai chicken sandwich you won't be disappointed. Go at 11 am to beat the lunchtime rush at 12 pm. Everyone from the state capitol eats there so get there early before the crowd. Also that Texas pecan flavored coffee, that's the best, Jessie will probably fill it with a fresh pot if you ask for it, always the best service staff“
“Do not pass up a visit to this place!! We had the most delicious crepes brunch here. My (gluten free) boyfriend had the gf turkey pesto savory crepe, and I the croque madame crepe and they were both perfection!! Tons of flavor and high quality, fresh ingredients. I also had their delicious peach tea and my boyfriend enjoyed his americano. This is definitely a gem of Austin (the kind chef, original art deco lobby, outdoor seating availability and the fact they also serve cocktails was a bonus!).Dietary restrictions: Gluten free crepe option was five star!!“
“We went here for a quick brunch with our large group of twelve people, and they managed to accommodate us promptly despite being very busy on a public holiday morning. Their attitude was excellent, and we felt warmly welcomed. The wait time for our orders was slightly longer than expected, which was understandable given our group size and the restaurant's full capacity. However, the food itself was excellent—well-presented, fresh, expertly prepared, and delicious. The ambiance was upscale, modern, and environmentally conscious. The restrooms were clean, there was ample parking, and they even provided toys for older kids.As for the service, it was outstanding. The staff were very friendly and attentive, making it easy to get the waitress' attention whenever we needed something. We will definitely return if we find ourselves in the area again!“
“Stopped in at 11 am and only waited about 5 minutes for a table. Friendly service from the host and server Sharon. I ordered the special omelette stuffed with carne guisada and it came topped with queso. The carne guisada tasted more like shredded beef, but it was still very tasty and the breakfast potatoes were very good too. I asked for a side of salsa and that added more flavor on top.I also ordered the banana pecan pancakes, but they weren't moist or fluffy at all. They tasted kind of like boxed pancake mix and they were thin, dry, and a bit overcooked. Definitely not the worst, but I wouldn't order it again. The patio is nice, but sit outside at your own risk lol. There's a few bird thieves that will snatch the eggs and potatoes right off your plate while you're eating.I enjoyed it overall and will go back again in the future.“
“I love a good diner. Being from the Midwest, I yearned a cozy cafe that had good coffee and a breakfast that would fill me for a good part of the day. I used to be a “pancake of the day” girl, even better if I could get it in as a silver dollar. I like more of salty than sweet breakfast. Eggs usually, and then maybe something sweet on the side, hence the silver dollar. But I came to Cafe Java, with no premonition of what I truly wanted. Our waitress Chloe, helped me choose between the difficult decision of salty and sweet by offering the Mascarpone Pancake special that came with eggs and sausage, I opted for an additional of hash browns, because why not?Chloe steered me right. I loved the flavors of the pancake, a once sweet breakfast addition was now toned down with the taste of their mascarpone, with a hint of sweet from strawberries mixed throughout the cream cheese.I’ll be going back with a doubt! A classic diner and amazing recommendations? Sold.“
“The breakfast sandwiches were divine. The best espresso (it only comes in a double shot with ice cubes) I have EVER had. I always drink it hot and put a little sugar in, but this cold espresso was so good that I loved it cold and black. My friend visiting from Boston said that the latte was the best she'd ever had as well. Great music and atmosphere.“
“Nestled in the heart of Austin's bustling craft beer scene, Nomadic Beerworks stands out as a beacon of creativity and quality. Boasting a beer list that reads like a love letter, albeit a short one, to beer enthusiasts everywhere, Nomadic offers something for every palate, from the puckering tartness of sours to the deep, rich complexities of Belgian quads. Each brew is a testament to the skill and passion of the brewers, showcasing a commitment to excellence that sets Nomadic apart from the crowd. But it's not just about the beer at Nomadic Beerworks – it's about the experience. Stepping into this brewery is like entering a hoppy wonderland, where the air is filled with the tantalizing aromas of malt and yeast. And while the outside seating, which overlooks the parking lot and the sketchy activities at the U-Haul lot across the street, may lack the trendy ambiance of some of its counterparts, the real magic happens inside, where the true spirit of craft beer culture thrives. In a world where breweries often cater to the masses, bad parents and their untethered hordes of ill behaved offspring, Nomadic Beerworks dares to be different and focus on the beer… and the adults who drink it. With its exceptional beer selection, welcoming atmosphere, and commitment to quality, it's a shining example of what craft beer should be. Cheers to Nomadic Beerworks – may your taps never run dry!“
“Cute little cafe with deeeelicious ice cream! We tried two flavors, forgot one but the other was Persian honeycomb. Absolutely recommend trying the spot for their unique flavors! It's also in the nice walkable Mueller neighborhood, so makes for a nice stop while walking around.“
“I’ve eaten here twice and have not been disappointed! The food has such a great variety with options I haven’t seen other places. The plate is a great way to try different things. Biscotti latte and meat/cheese/egg toast are my favorite. Next time trying chicken katsu plate!“
“I have to say, for me everything was great. The chai tea was delicious and I'm very picky about my chai tea. The gluten free pancakes were just right and so were my over medium eggs. The waitress was a sweetheart. My only small complaint was the fruit bowl didn't taste very fresh but I can live with that. Definitely my favorite place to eat breakfast from now on. Highly recommended!“
“Came from the tuna melt but they were out. So I got the Brisket Brioche Banh mi instead, which was good. I gave it 4 stars because while the food and the service was great, there were a lot of flies hovering around our food and we were sitting in doors. If they could find a solution to that, it'll be great. Besides that, I'll be back (to try the tuna melt) and I highly recommend it if you're looking for a great sandwich spot.“
“I have tried every pastrami place in Austin. This is clearly the best. Imagine tender pastrami with a BBQ bark from Opies. Put it in a sandwich and bam. Quick service. Kinda a flash mob right after me about noon but I think they can handle it. Update 4 years later still amazing“
“I lived in Paraguay for a number of years and this brought me right back to those days! The empanadas were beautifully made and the chipa! Seriously, the chipa was excellent. If you haven’t tried it then you are missing out! I loved the mate cocido and just how everything here is made with love! The owner is such a hard worker and she really cares about her customers and shop. I came in here with my little girl and the owner was so sweet to her. Support this local business and I promise you won’t be disappointed!“
“One of the best places in South Austin to work. The laid back vibe, whimsical outdoor space, and attentive staff make this place a must visit. Came here often to work on my dissertation and couldn't be more please with the change of scenery at The Hive. They're keeping it Austin Weird!“
“A little tricky to find, but the breakfast sandwiches are well worth it. It's located in a building that is undergoing construction, so if you don't see an entrance, walk around the outside of the building until you see a sign. So glad we came across this café!“
“Love me some com gar. I always feel welcomed and even appreciated! I’ve been here with friends, my boyfriend, and even my grandma. Be sure to follow on socials so that you can check out their rad DJs and pop up events. Pop off!! Yeah so this place is rad. Pretty unique and I’d say it’s a favorite of mine and if you disagree ur a dummyfoofoo“
“I love this place! It's a gem tucked away from downtown and never misses. I come here often with my boyfriend and our two dogs. The outside seating area is lovely and their french pastries are some of the best in Austin! We always order the kouign-amann and the quiche if they have it. The quiche changes daily but is always fluffy and has a more custard-y consistency than others. It works beautifully. We've also had the beef tartare (delicious but small), caesar (love the cured egg yolk), breakfast sandwich (yes, do it!), pastrami sandwich (generous and hits the spot), and the gnochetti (good but not one of our favorites). I want to mention the service as well! I would be careful about coming here at certain times if I was in a rush but I love the staff! I am always happy to see Brenda or Kyle! Kyle is awesome and on top of it. Brenda always comes to say hi to the dogs. I definitely recommend this place and am slowly becoming a regular.“
“The place looks very clean with a plain and simple decor. It got busy after I arrived in the later morning; the staff was friendly and they handled the customer volume very well. The restroom was out of order, so when I needed it, I was S.O.L. (pun intended). I came only for a donut; I bought one and a coffee. The donut was fair, but nothing to write home about. The coffee was not good. They have a few standard bench tables where you can sit down to eat. They also sell some hot foods like kolaches. There are also two large drink coolers with a fairly large selection of beverages, including milk.“
“A nice little corner store that is more elevated than your typical convenience store. They also make food! Ordered two sandwiches and they were big. (Sandwich descriptions can be found in my pics of the menu) Calabrian Chicken: This was so good and I would definitely get it again. Really great flavors. Chicken Bacon Ranch: Just ok compared to the Calabrian. Menu says it usually comes on a hoagie bun which would've made it better. Still decent on the panini bread but not dying to reorder this. Looking forward to trying more of their menu. :)“
“The restaurant turned out to be a hidden gem for us. We ordered hakka noodle dosa (with no onions and no garlic), samsoa and Madurai Malai Dosa and all three items were very authentic tasting and delicious. I typically don't like dosas, but I sincerely enjoyed these. The owners and the team were very nice and willing to work with our restrictions even though they were very busy. Additionally, they are able to make most things vegan and/or Jain which is a blessing for us. Definitely a top restaurant on our list to go to and take family and friends now. A genuinely positive experience for us.Dietary restrictions: Vegan friendly, Jain friendly“
“A great spot to stop. This coffee shop is part of the hotel. The barista’s were great and easy to talk to. The coffee was fantastic! They have a nice outside seating area and the inside seating is rustic and comfortable. Good spot to chill or not if you’re in a hurry.“
“Great customer service. I was sitting inside having a great bagel and coffee while waiting for daughter to get out of her doctor's appointment. One of the worker's noticed my car had been rear ended in the parking lot and called it to my attention. We got the driver's attention and made him stop. No damage to my car but yes to the offender's car. His excuse was that he got hit last time and no one stopped. Thank you Mary's cafe for looking out for your customers.“
“big fan. it wouldn't be hard to spend half the day here. as someone who works remotely, I really enjoyed the drip brew coffee and the opportunity to order real food. I like that its so close to the city but separate, quieter, plenty of free parking.“
“Had an amazing meal this evening! We had the coconut curry squash and it was probably the best we’ve had in recent memory. The owner came over and chatted with us and is very sweet. Highly recommend! Definitely should check this place out.“
“Just tried for the first time and got a mocha late, so this review is fresh as the coffee they made for me. Let me say it simple... I'm happy with this place and the coffee tastes so good. That's my review,...oh and the peeps here are hospitable and love to serve! Have a nice day!“
“This is a must for me when visiting Austin! Always friendly and reciprocating a smile, Elle and T reflect the essence of this business: a calm environment that provides tasty crepes and coffee made with care. The food never fails to make me crave more, so I will surely be coming back very soon! This is definitely a place I recommend every student and visitor to go to for a delicious pick-me-up. The cashier was also extremely nice and helpful in helping me decide what coffee to order. I received my crepe very well packed and prepared to my liking, as seen in the picture. Overall, this is the best hangout spot with great food, great music, and great people!“
“This a perfect spot if you want a good meal at a great price! We went here after a hike nearby and couldn’t have been happier. Getting chips and salsa right away is a big plusALL day breakfast is a huge Win in my book. Some places close breakfast so early it’s a crime. Especially for people that don’t eat breakfast when they first wake up, I usually wait a few hours before eatingSausage Migas plate was perfectly cooked, and we also got the pancake platter. The pancakes had a vanilla flavor to them, very goodParking was easy Sunday afternoon, but I can see it being challenging if too busyParking: Easy on a Sunday afternoon, but if other businesses were open it would be a bit more challenging“
“i got an iced vanilla latte with oatmilk, yes i am basic and yes it was delicious. the employees were friendly and i got my food pretty quickly even though it was busy. i love the seats next to the big window and it felt peaceful even with so many folks coming in and out. the green eggs and ham is interesting, i liked the prosciutto and soft boiled egg. overall a great experience i liked it here a lot.“
“This place is authentic Ethiopian cuisine. It was fresh and had great flavor. My partner and I both had the Veggie Combo, which was good. The injera was very fresh. Added bonus they have Ethiopian beer and wine! It is attached to a mart, which also sells the Ethiopian beers which was good to know.“
“Clearly a great local place. Don't be in a hurry...at least not that busy morning. (Horchata caught my eye, but I stuck with a straight cuppa Joe)Sorry to say, the bagel dog was meh ..but it's 3rd party (and probably because bagels and microwaves aren't on the best of terms).“
“Such an adorable place! Super aesthetic, great for teleworking, hanging out, studying! I got a croissant and a vanilla latte. The art work is quality ✨ Highly recommend this place!Parking: Parking was great and convenient, lots of space and free!“
“Quackenbush' Valentines rubber duckies are on display! is in the air! We're here every Saturday for our crochet meet up and we enjoy the hot drinks and yummy pastries! I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for savory pastry options! Maybe one of these daysStaff is always friendly and attentive! I like coming here to check out their seasonal display and pastries“
“Nothing is really made fresh. It's all pre-made at the beginning of the day and then warmed up.But the drinks are amazing, It's in a great location, the staff is friendly, And it's nice to just sit down and chat with a friend.Sometimes I wish there was more seating suited to groups of 4/5.“
“I LOVE this family owned business, because it is so community minded (and delicious). The staff are friendly & helpful; the pastries, teas & sandwiches are yummy; and we especially enjoy the outside patio. This weekend, they even let the adorable local Girl Scouts set up a cookie booth out front, illustrating their commitment to being a community establishment; not just an establishment in our community. PS: Try the BLT -it's soooo good!“
“Granola bowl was one of the best yogurt granola bowls I've ever had. I don't normally rave about something as ordinary as granola but I loved the textures of theirs -- the combination of seeds and nuts gave everything a delightful crunch in each bite. We also got pancakes, which were good, but my favorite remains the granola bowl! Warning: outside seating is plentiful and it's nice to dine al fresco but we were attacked by very aggressive bees attracted to the honey from our granola bowls, so sit outside at your own risk! We ended up retreating inside to the indoor tables, which our frightened children were thankful for. :) But overall, we loved the chill vibes of this place and the yummy food.“
“A cozy gem in the heart of downtown. I love walking here on the weekends for a truly easy going brunch. You can make it quick with a croissant and coffee or live it up with a variety of breakfast tacos, sandwich's and other options complete with mimosas, froses and a full espresso menu. Service is a little on the slow side, but totally manageable if you know what you are getting into.I love the avocado toast with the feta.“
“I can't have caffeine and always struggle to find good decaf that I can order without judgement. Their decaf espresso is fantastic quality and I love the honey + lavender syrup in a latte. Great service that didn't scoff when I ordered decaf and very helpful in suggesting other places to visit in Austin.“
“Had a great breakfast and lunch here - guac on toast in the morning was excellent, especially the salsa macha that comes with it, and the blackened fish caesar salad for lunch was great as well. Loved the Savannah red rice balls as a side too - green goddess dressing was delicious.“
“The 2222/360 area is a bit of dead zone in terms of bars/restaurants to just bring your laptop and do some work. So it's super nice to have Coffee Shark in the area! Really love it and the staff is super sweet!Vegetarian options: The falafel sandwich was delicious!“
“You looking for a great espresso? A great latte? Even challenging oat milk? This is the place. Envirionment is so great. Big windows, nice apropos music, nice clean, comfortable, plenty of parking, (which may change once this place gets too popular. ) This place has its own vibe - very hip, very NOT pretending to be - the hardly exists any more "weird" that Austin's new businesses fail so miserably at! It's a wine bar really, but they really know latte too. How well? Right at the Houndstooth, Medici, Cuvee Triannon level, well above Summermoon, Stouthaus, Jo's level. Cons: not much in laptop outlets and it's a little on the pricey side - as would a fancy wine bar would be. You get what you pay for!“
“Great, tasty food with hit and miss service on Saturday mornings. My breakfast tacos were delicious, and my kid scarfed his enchiladas.Be forewarned--the back room gets noisy AF when it's full!!Vegetarian options: LOTS of options for all times of day.“
“The food was delicious, the drinks were fun and imaginative, there were a ton of options for board and card games, and the man in charge of the games, Chris, was a delight. He was passionate and knowledgeable, with tons of suggestions for novice game players.“
“I regularly get drinks here when I'm in the area and like Gen the best but I wish they didn't bump the music up to clubbing levels of loud. Hearing loss is both gradual and permanent I hope they'll take that into consideration.“
“I have been a fan of juices for years. I found Carly online and when visiting Austin we decided to give Alchemy juices a try. I can honestly say these are the best juices I've ever had. Now, traveling full time, we order them once in a while and have them delivered where we are in the US. I highly recommend you try them. They are rich, organic and delicious. You feel the nutrition getting into your cells!!“
“they were open after 8 on Christmas Eve and the sign said they were open Christmas morning!! #savedtheday. We needed a few last minute items for Christmas Day with the grandparents and they saved us!! Such nice staff and a great selection of items!“
“They have an extensive vegetarian/vegan menu with a ton of variety--breakfast food, mexican food, comfort food, desserts, drinks, and most of it is delicious. My only complaints were that the desserts were often too sweet and a little one note, and the surcharge they add makes it pretty expensive depending on what you get. Still worth it though.“
