“Best crepes in Austin! The perfectly well kept secret I feel I have discovered. Come and try and thank me later! I have had 3 different types of crepes, all amazing (1 savory, 2 desert)! Perfect ratio for ingredients vs crepe. Perfect thickness for crepe itself! Yum!“

“We love love Baguette et chocolat.First, I would like to say that the person who gave only one star is not being fair with their review. They had it on their website that there will be no fève. It was their choice bc in America, unfortunately, you need to be careful with things that you could choke on: they probably didn’t want to get sued in case something happened. This person forgot to mention how delicious the galette des rois was. We had leftovers bc we are a family of 3. It was perfect reheated in the toaster oven for the next 2 days. The crust was perfectly flaky. The almond cream was sweet but not too sweet, the right amount of sugar and almond. This place hasn’t changed since it got bought back a couple of years ago. The quality is still the same: it’s still the same pastry chef. The owners are so nice and friendly.I love going there and having my chausson aux pommes, they’re definitely my favorite. I love how flaky are their croissant, pains au chocolat. It’s always hard to decide between a plain good old croissant, pain aux raisins or chausson aux pommes. Sometimes I have to get all 3 ?I’ve never had their breakfast for some reason, I should try. I’ve had plenty of their lunch items. Their salads are really good and fresh. I love their sandwiches: I feel like I’m home. Their croque monsieur are my favorite thing on their lunch menu: if you haven’t tried them yet, do yourself a favor and head over to get yours. So good!!! Love the sauce on top. I don’t like when other French bakeries make them without that sauce: to me, it’s what make a great croque monsieur.Everything is made fresh so if you’re in a rush, order ahead and your food will be ready when you get there.Being French, sometimes I miss home. If I need comfort food, Baguette et chocolat is where I go.Keep on supporting this amazing bakery!“

“Good coffee and food, but it took 25-30 minutes to get a single latte and panini. So obviously this is not the place to come to grab something quickly on the go. They have a great view overlooking the hills with some little tables under a nice covering to sit and relax. I was just in a hurry and trying to hit the road and support a small local business while grabbing a quick coffee. Would come back if I'm not in a rush, but would definitely recommend elsewhere if you don't want to wait a long time.“

“I LOVE this family owned business, because it is so community minded (and delicious). The staff are friendly & helpful; the pastries, teas & sandwiches are yummy; and we especially enjoy the outside patio. This weekend, they even let the adorable local Girl Scouts set up a cookie booth out front, illustrating their commitment to being a community establishment; not just an establishment in our community. PS: Try the BLT -it's soooo good!“

“You looking for a great espresso? A great latte? Even challenging oat milk? This is the place. Envirionment is so great. Big windows, nice apropos music, nice clean, comfortable, plenty of parking, (which may change once this place gets too popular. ) This place has its own vibe - very hip, very NOT pretending to be - the hardly exists any more "weird" that Austin's new businesses fail so miserably at! It's a wine bar really, but they really know latte too. How well? Right at the Houndstooth, Medici, Cuvee Triannon level, well above Summermoon, Stouthaus, Jo's level. Cons: not much in laptop outlets and it's a little on the pricey side - as would a fancy wine bar would be. You get what you pay for!“

“My local coffee spot! Great coffee and food, friendly and personable staff (including the goat), nice new covered deck area and extended open air space. They also sell their own beans for when I don't have time to stop in and get my fix.Parking: Never had trouble parking in the lot. Small lot in front, and large lot to the side. Side lot is gravel/dirt and not ideal for a freshly washed car or lowered vehicles.“

The Wayback Cafe • $$
9601 Bee Cave Rd, Austin - 7.34 miles

“Stayed for two nights. Beautifully decorated, clean, and comfortable cottages on a serene property. Wonderful place to unplug and get away from it all. It was conveniently located to grab food at close-by restaurants. The shower/tub combo in cottage 2 has amazing water pressure and the tub is large enough for a nice soak. All of the linens are excellent quality. The towels were plush and super absorbent; the sheets and bedding were super soft and cozy. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The air conditioning worked very well and kept us cool in the Texas heat. There was a small salt water pool that we didn’t have time to enjoy, but looked lovely.Only negative for us was there was no way to heat water (no microwave), or options for a tea drinker. Had a Keurig with coffee pods available (sugar but no cream). Solved my dilemma with a quick stop at the local HEB for cheap electric kettle. Not a big deal at all. The place is so thoughtfully appointed and this would only have added to our wonderful stay. Only mentioning it to allow for future travelers to make plans.Rooms: Beautiful and comfortable. Has mini-fridge, Keurig, and small tv. Excellent cell service. No microwave.Safety: Felt very safe.Walkability: Not wheelchair accessible. Has well lit flagstones paths from parking and other cottages.Food & drinks: Cafe is not open 7 days a week. Unable to enjoy. Looked quaint with a good menu. Would love to try next time.Noteworthy details: Luxurious linens. Fabulous water pressure. Quiet rooms.“

“Was in the mood for some pancakes and did a quick search and Cafe Lago came up. The food was really good and the place was pretty crowded when I showed up. I ordered pancakes and the ABC omelette and both were really good. I am going to come by again when I have the urge for pancakes. Cafe Lago is definitely worth a stop if you are looking for a place for breakfast.“

“This is my new happy place in the neighborhood. The owners, cooks, and staff are so friendly and welcoming here. I hope to make this a weekly hangout!I love their made-to-order breakfast tacos. My favorite is their sausage, egg, and cheese, but they have a nice variety to choose from. The guacamole salsa is mild and tasty!I also tried their smash burgers for dinner and it was a hit for the whole family! I like the way they marinate their smash burgers. Yum!Really. If you like supporting local and good food, this is your place.Located on the same premise as Circle C Swim Center. Parking is a breeze. Limited seating inside, but just right for a quick bite to enjoy solo or with a friend.Pro Tip: You can place an online order in advance through their website.“
