Great brunch and bloody Mary!
And another one! I found another gem to share, and it did not disappoint. If you’re seeking a little solitude check out @thewaybackaustin. Not only are the individual cottages beautifuly decorated, but the bed was amazing! I ate at the cafe twice & the avocado toast & shrimp & grits were equally satisfying. The Wayback is consistently top-tier across the board. Having been for lunch, brunch, and dinner, it never misses.
The vibe is a beautiful, relaxed Hill Country retreat feel. Quiet, scenic, and well-curated.

Located off a major road, The Wayback Cafe and Cottages is a hidden gem nestled in nature. This unique place offers always amazing fresh farm to table food and fantastic service. The atmosphere is cozy and classy, while feeling like home. Whether for lunch, happy hour, dinner, or brunch, the experience is perfection. The buttery flaky *Texas Grandma Approved* biscuits, custardy quiche, and perfectly light and fluffy omelette are standouts, alongside the very best sausage. The Huevos Rancheros are a standout, and the biscuits paired with peach and orange jam are a revelation. For something heartier, the steak is absolutely phenomenal. Service has matched the quality of the cuisine and has been simply exemplary. The beautiful back patio is perfect for birthday parties or graduation dinners. The cottages offer a wonderful, peaceful back porch facing the lawn and woods. Breakfast in the cottage is excellent, and the property is quiet and relaxing. The Wayback is always consistent and always top notch. It feels like a tiny getaway to the country. Highly recommend the Wayback Cottages & Cafe for both a wonderful dining experience and quiet stay.
