“My wife and I visited last Wednesday on our vacation from Minnesota. The brisket was great, the barbacoa was the best I've ever had anywhere. The onion rings were amazing and I don't personally care for onion rings. The jalapeno cheese chorizo was outstanding. As good as all those were the beef ribs were the best most perfect bite of food I've ever had... But what really stood out is the amazing staff from Evan greeting us as we walked in the door to everyone that we met so helpful kind and cheerful! Having worked in the service industry for most of my life it's always a joy to be treated so well!“

Since the burgers do not come with fries, my family of 8 shared 2 shareable regular fry bowls and one fried sweet potatoes bowl. “I’ve been to Top Notch before, and every time the food is fantastic. The fries are always crispy and delicious, and the shakes are absolutely incredible, easily some of my favorites around.

On my most recent visit, Owen was working the register, and his kindness genuinely made my day. When I went to pay for my drink, he unexpectedly gave it to me on the house. It was such a thoughtful gesture and speaks volumes about the level of customer service he provides.

“I searched for “food near me” while stopped at a red light and came across Falafel Burger. I’m glad I decided to stop because the falafel wrap was not only savory but incredibly filling. The moment I picked it up, I could tell it was packed with fresh ingredients as it had some serious heft to it.

I also ordered the za’atar fries, even though I’d never tried this herbaceous seasoning on fries before, and they were a pleasant surprise. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared.

“Always hits the spot. Had lunch at this location yesterday and breakfast this morning. The hamburgers are huge and super tasty. The biscuits are perfectly fluffy and they apply tons of gravy which is essential. Don't skip the hash browns either.

Also the prices are the best in town, can't beat it.“

“This is my favorite dive bar in Austin, Texas! The beers are so cold on top. You can expect ice crystals on top.
Also, my favorite thing on the menu is the burger, but make sure you get it as a double! I regularly come here on the weekend and pick up to go burgers for multiple neighbors (why i have an ice cold Coors ☺)

If you want a sports bar this is not the place (and we prefer it that way) but if you want to shoot a round of pool or shuffleboard you have found the spot!“

“My first time. I loved the atmosphere, relaxed vibe and fast service. At first l, I thought the burger was small (Deep End). Ðon't let it fool you. Turns out it took me 3 days to finish it 😅 it was more and became more and more delicious as leftovers. And you can walk off your meal down at the park or read 📚 😏. Even though there super busy, staff were fast total professionals and tended to me asking if I needed a drink. That was nice to get that attention - as busy as they were. “My wife and I travel frequently to Austin and have for a number of years. With two of our children here, we have dined out at many of Austin's finest restaurants. I am a partner in a number of businesses in Sonoma County, California, including golf courses, theaters and a restaurant. I am rarely motivated to write a restaurant review, particularly a glowing review. My wife found Oz. Tap House online and it was very close to our hotel. My personal experience with tap houses is that they have great beer, but mediocre food and generally less than mediocre service. I went online and looked at the menu, still not particularly enthusiastic. But I decided to place a dinner order for my wife and I and was immediately blown away by the online ordering system. Virtually every menu item can be custom ordered in a dizzying variety of ways. I even remarked to my wife that it was the finest online ordering software that I had ever seen. But ordering is one thing and execution is another. My wife ordered the Oz. House Burger (Beef), cooked medium, substituting lettuce wrap for the bun and adding avocado with a small avocado jalapeno side salad. Again, the customization options were many. I ordered the Charcuterie Pretzel and a Side Caesar Salad, with no croutons. I knew the restaurant was only a couple of minute drive, but even then the speed of the announcement of the projected pickup time and the time itself was amazing; less than 15 minutes. When I picked up the meals at curbside, I told the waitress how impressed I had been with the online ordering system and she thanked me and told me she would have to tell her husband. Turns out Krista and her husband, Sean, own and operate the restaurant. I had assumed with the level of sophistication that it must be a franchise or chain, but no, Oz. is a true mom and pop restaurant. When leaving I told Krista that the proof would be in (i) whether the delivered food matched the order and (ii) the quality of the food. I had barely started eating when my wife announced that her salad was spectacular and the burger one of the best she had ever had. My meal was every bit as impressive. Again, uncharacteristically for me, I called Krista (even though the restaurant was hopping and I knew she was busy), just to tell her that the food was as good or better than the service. This is as advertised: true farm-to-market fare, exceedingly fresh, expertly prepared as ordered and quickly delivered. Yes, Oz. may not have McDonald's prices, but it has infinitely superior food, expertly prepared and efficiently delivered. We admittedly didn't even try what was probably the standout feature of the restaurant: the beer. I assume if the restaurant part of the tap house was spectacular, the beer side of it must be even more so. Next time. Do yourself a favor and try the Oz. Tap House.
