This place in East Austin is a throw back mom and pop family run place. The son took my order and dad brought my food out. I had the steak sandwich and onion rings. Pretty good. Somewhat greasy. I’d go back and try the burger and fries.
This place is like one of those rare old fashioned stand allow fast food places where the owners still work there and know all their customers. It’s quite charming, and their fried items are especially good such as their chicken wings. Anyway, check the place out, especially if you live nearby! Give your money to some locals, not McDonald’s.

I prefer the old fashion burger, the one you can taste the beef and Hill-Bert has it, along with onion rings. ?I'm happy they have the drive thru it's so convenient when I call in my order and drive by to pick up. I prefer Hill-Bert's hamburger taste over any chain store and, of course, the sweet potato fries, you won't find them in a chain store. BTW, Hill-Berts' is a neighborhood secret ? shhh, while I slurp my Hill-Bert's chocolate malt!
