“The food is phenomenal. I am very impressed with this restaurant based on my recent experience (doordash delivery).

The eggplant & minced pork noodle is a must try. I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was. All the flavors and textures compliment each other to create this wonderful burst of flavor and I've never tasted anything quite like it.

Also ordered pan-fried thumb bun (pork and scallion)... those were devoured quickly.

Beef chow main was good. Not raving about it as much as the other dishes I tried, but it's a solid choice if you want chow mein.

I will 1000% be trying more from their menu in the future.“

“Chef Hong's is an awesome hidden gem, located right between two buildings. The food is freshly made and amazing, never too greasy; I loved the beef noodles, chow mein, and fried rice. Their Chinese hamburgers were also incredible. The older couple who runs it provides super wholesome service, always making sure your food is hot and fresh. A must-try for anyone looking for comforting food, making it perfect for fans of comfort food. Highly recommend!

“When we arrived we were greeted by a friendly, enthusiastic young man. He welcomed us to the restaurant and thanked us for choosing Ling Wu for our special occasion (birthday). He also said we would receive a complimentary dessert. It was a nice introduction to the restaurant. We ordered soup dumplings, akaushi pot stickers, fried chicken dumplings and Kung Pao chicken with cashews. All of the food was delicious and our server was friendly and efficient. When she brought the complementary dessert, it was the cutest pig shaped strawberry mousse and was delicious and playful. Even the diners at the next table wanted to take a picture of it. Everything about the meal was great.“

The standout dish has to be the Schezwan noodles—perfectly cooked with just the right amount of spice. The momo are a delightful treat, packed with flavor and served fresh. The chicken lollipop is another highlight, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, paired beautifully with their Schezwan gravy.

“Just tried Song La for the first time today. Shirley was so incredibly friendly and the food was fantastic. I spent 3 months in Taiwan before moving to Austin and was craving some Taiwanese fried chicken and this hit the spot. Plus, everything is made to order and comes out super fresh (that said, don't come in a rush, make sure you've got a little time to enjoy their new spot at The Thicket and hang for a bit). Whether you've had Taiwanese food before and are craving it or just want to try some incredible fried chicken in a cool South Austin spot, definitely give them a try. ❤“

“Soupleaf is one of the best hot pots around. Delicious broths with veggie/vegan options, tons of veggies and noodles AYCE style, and availability for included AYCE seafood at the bar, plus meats they bring out to you (if you’re into that). Unlimited sauce bar, rice, noodles…everything is included. They also have fruit and soft serve for dessert. You can top off your broth with a different variety where most other places will charge you extra for a different broth flavor. I also love that they have a different price point for their “Sealeaf” if you just want veggies and foods from the AYCE bar without any meat. Very vegan/vegetarian friendly place, but I’ve also brought meat eaters and watched them rub their full belly while rolling out the door. Great value, taste, variety of fresh ingredients, a consistently good experience.“

The food is so delicious, I’m vegetarian with a sensitive stomach and I’ve eaten here several times with zero issue, even if my stomach is already mad at me. “O.m.g. i dont even know where to start... the food was insanely delicious. Very fresh, filling in a nutritious way, the chili oil is AMAZING. The KIMCHI... OMG I could eat that kimchi every day of my life. The service was very good, all three servers were very nice, the food came out fast, which was surprising because the quality of the food was so incredible. They serve what i believe to be alkaline water. My boyfriend and i got the chili oil dumplings, Xiao long bao, kimchi of course and the thousand year old egg with tofu (fermented for weeks or months). Also, it wasn't expensive at all!
Im from Houston, and i haven't gone to too many places, but this is definitely my favorite restaurant in Austin! ❤“

For a party of two, I would recommend the split pot, since the broth portion is quite generous. The topping prices can add up quickly if you're not careful, especially for a large party.
The golden spicy soup and tom yum broth were delicious! I highly recommend the octopus, pork belly, and mixed vegetable toppings for tom yum broth. The marinated spicy beef, mixed vegetables, and wood ear mushrooms go very well with the golden spicy soup.“

“Tried this place 2 x and I really wanted to like it! The egg drop soup is weird and has celery in it which completely changes the flavor. I had both sesame and general tso chicken, I didn't care for either. The crab ragoons are good, but that's about it from what I have tried.“
