“In the land of bbq KG stands out like a shining star! We watched Kareem on Bbq showdown and knew we had to go when we realized he was in Austin. We thought it’d be good but it was truly outstanding! We ordered all but 2 meats (my husband forgot the sausage, I was not happy!) everything was amazing, but the standouts were the chicken kabobs, the pomegranate pork ribs and the lamb chop (not usually a lamb fan). The chicken thighs were so moist and flavorful! The flavors of the pom pork rib were so rich and complex and truly unique. The true surprise for both of us was the lamb chop; tender, juicy and full of savory flavor. Rounding out our meal was the Egyptian Mac and cheese which had there not been so much delicious meat would have been a top fave, creamy shells with a garlic tomato béchamel with just the right amount of nutmeg. For dessert we tried the rice pudding with crumbles pistachios and hulava on top, something I hated in childhood. The cool, creamy rice pudding had a subtle cardamom flavor and cooled off the mouth after so much Egyptian flavor! Outstanding!!!“

“We’ve been looking for a late night spot and this one is definitely going to be one of our go to’s. Delicious, generous portions, amazing service. The fish cake soup had a lot of variety and the broth was so so good. Soy garlic chicken was crispy and juicy. Pajeon (seafood pancake) had great seafood flavor and the edges were deliciously crispy. I’m excited to go again.

“Had a fantastic time for my birthday here today! The food was delicious, really recommend the Dragon's Breath roll. The gentleman who helped us - I'm unsure if he was the owner, manager, or a server - was so attentive to us and accommodating to our baby, even going as far as preparing a special thing for her. We're looking forward to our next visit!“

“Ordered the spicy beef stew, spicy squid, and the spicy seafood udon. Spicy stew has a very flavourful beef taste that pairs with the spice perfectly. Usually other places I've tried, the spice overpowers the taste of the actual beef. Here, theyve done it perfectly, and the stew had a nice variety of mushrooms and noodles in it. The spicy squid and seafood udon are nicely seasoned and stir fried with a hint of smokiness making these my favorite.“

“Korean BBQ Chicken winner
It's a chain but they do a great job. Nice hot and crispy Korean style BBQ chicken. They have a variety of flavors with a fair portion. You can get away with a medium for two if you add a side or two. You can have bone in or boneless. Note the boneless isn't just white meat, they include some dark which I like.
Atmosphere is fine, nothing fancy, but nice. I will point out though the staff is friendly, they do encourage you to leave. I've been here a few times and it wasn't a one time thing. I find it a bit annoying but not a deal breaker.“

“Love the bibimbap. I like it more than the bibimbap I get in korean restaurants. The sauce they give along with it is yummy, the vegetables are finely chopped and yummy. The service is wonderful, the kind cashier always manages to do great small talk that leaves me with a smile.Great experience here!“

“This is some of the best tofu I've tried since moving to Austin. The food was 10/10, but the online ordering didn't include their whole menu, and we didn't get our drinks with our deliver :( I hope to come back and try them again soon!
Vegetarian options: This tofu is BOMB. Recently trying to go vegetarian, and I was really dreading eating more bland tofu- this was not the case, marinated perfectly!“

“The food is always delicious and can be compared to a Chipotle with a slightly different menu. They have many options and combinations that stick out well. The staff at this location have always been friendly and quick. The Soda is one of the best parts. The pineapple cream is delicious. They always have fresh kitchen bits which is essential in this dish. I would highly recommend as I eat here at least once a month just to have a little Seoul in my soul!“

“Korean review: really inexpensive and one of the only places in South Austin to get your Korean food fix. I know other reviews had some service problems but experienced NONE of that. Greeted immediately when walking in, we picked our seats and had multiple staff during our hour and a half stay check up on us even with a crowd of others arriving after us. We got the Kimbap appetizer split it for two (was delicious didn't need anything else like a sauce - perfect on it's own!). I got the beef bulgogi and my friend got the Rock Bibimbap with spicy pork (like regular Bibimbap but in a hot pot!). YALL LEMME TELL YOU THIS WAS SO GOOD. I was having an emotional experience with these flavors. Banchan selection was good too. Got 6 of them and one of them kimchi. I'll be back for take out and eventually try out the Japanese and Sushi portion of the menu.“

“We love Underdog. The food is great and allows you to pick and choose a light to hearty meal. Kimchi sampler, scallion pajeon, mushroom skewers, fried chicken, crispy fried rice bowl are great. The wine list is amazing. They have a corkage fee if you want to bring your own wine. We liked the twisted donut dessert so much, we order one at the start and end the next time we came in.
Vegetarian options: Crispy rice bowl is an extremely tasty vegetarian option. Scallion pajeon, mushroom skewers and tempura can also be pieced together to help make hearty meal.“

“I’m not one to frequent mall food courts, but this is an exception. I mainly go to this hmart because paik’s noodles is there. The first time I had it was in Dallas, I didn’t know they had any locations in Austin. So when I moved, I thought I’d never find it again. My personal favorite is the jjamppong. As I’m not really a seafood person, the thought of having squid in the dish was initially off putting, but it really does have a nice flavor and just adds to the dish along with the mussels. This is my favorite seafood soup now. The spice factor is nice too, it seems like it’s topped with serranos so you get a nice kick. The broth is amazing. It’s absolutely delicious. I haven’t had a bad time with the service here, everyone seems pretty friendly and easy to work with. I’ll definitely be going back.“

“Korean corn dog
This chain restaurant brings us a little Korean culture in a familiar form, the corn dog.
Corn dog is a bit of a misnomer because they don't use corn, instead the batter is made from rice dough and is thicker than the typical corn crust. They also have a few more inventive options.such as adding potatoes, mozzarella cheese, and cinnamon sugar to the mix. They also offer a variety of sauces outside of ketchup like garlic sauce and sweet chili sauce giving it that additional Asian flare.
Resulting in a tasty treat.
All of this for a reasonable price. If you like corn dogs I suggest you check it out.“

“Just like everyone else I was shocked! I tried the Beef Bulgogi Box with extra Banchans (sides) and it was amazing. I requested for no spicy if possible (hard to do) and they did it! The food reminds me of New York Korean food. It’s really filling and nutritional, I cannot wait to have an excuse to order again.
I will say they give a generous amount of sides so if you really like rice like me, get an extra side of rice instead.“

“I've been getting catered food from Mom's Taste almost every year since 2017 for our Austin Asian American Film Festival events and staff gatherings and it's always a hit! The owners do not speak English so sometimes you do have to wait for their son Jake to be available or respond to complete an order unless you have a Korean speaker handy. However, it's very much worth it each time!
We often cater their kimbap (korean rice rolls) and also have asked them to do 2 proteins and a selection of veggie sides suitable to make Bibimbap (korean rice bowls). They usually include the bibimbap sauce when we convey that is what we're going for. Also, as good as their meat is, nothing will ever beat that marinated spicy pan fried tofu they have!!!“

“I cannot say enough good things about this place. I wish I could give more than five stars! Before I even tried the Chi’Lantro B'Bimbap bowl (#1) I was blown away by the kindness and insight that all of the employees showed me. I had questions about the menu and they were happy to tell me anything. Once they knew I was traveling and in town for business they they made sure to let me know about all of the places to go in Austin whether it was restaurants, the library, or other attractions (Barton Springs).
The food was delicious, the combination of flavors incredible! I got a side of the customer favorite Magic Sauce and it didn’t disappoint. I was going to try the Verde Ranch, but it wasn’t ready yet which tells me that they make it fresh. I would definitely recommend this place.
Vegetarian options: Tofu and please see photos in my review. There is an allergen chart which helps when building a bowl or wrap if there are things to avoid.
Dietary restrictions: There is a chart near the register showing allergens.
Kid-friendliness: They have a kids menu

“Taste better than H-Mart and surrounding Korean dine-in restaurants / "Poke Bowls." One order is enough for two people. It does suck that there is no parking nearby at the moment.
The presentation and way it's served is accurate to traditional sense. If you miss Korean home cooking, this place will hit the spot.“

“I haven't had food here in years back in my hay days we would get it at the food trucks around 6 or 7th Street. It's basically just how I remember I ordered kimchi fries cuz that was like to go thing to order. I got a sweet and spicy chicken I think for the protein I'm not entirely sure It was a little bit spicier than I expected the whole thing the dish and all. Parking was easy The customer service was on point and the restrooms were clean as well. Will definitely be coming back.“

“I've been wanting to try this place out. The pics look so appetizing! I enjoyed my meal but I'm not sure it's anything to rave about. I went with my sister and she got the Jopok All Ramen and I got the Topokki Rapokki and we shared some kimbap. She said hers was good but a little underwhelming and increasingly spicy with every bite. It came in a little mini pot and had a opaque broth. I liked my dish. It was spicier than I would like but not as spicy as other Topokki I've tried. If that makes any sense. It was a generous portion but probably would want to add sausage next time and ask for milder spice. Probably sacrilegious of me to even ask lol. I'd go again to try some of the other popular dishes like the blood sausage and mixed fry set. The woman working there was nice and they gave out stamp cards.“

“The food was delicious! I chose the "Create your own bowl" option. Korean BBQ, K-pop chicken, kimche, spinach, lettuce, jasmine rice, black beans, some kind of corn, and spicy ranch and one other dressing I chose..it was presented very well. Next time I'll stop stuffing my face and take a pic!“

“Go during their lunch time (11am-3pm weekdays), so the price is cheaper. There are a variety of bento boxes, fried rice, stews, and ramens options for their lunch menu. I got their seafood soft tofu jigae which was good and spicy. I also had their beef bulgogi ramen. The broth was slightly sweet, but I like the slightly chewy ramen the most. Both of these were on the lunch options. Their seafood pancake is huge to justify the $16 price point. It’s not the best I ever had, but it wasn’t bad.“

“Food was really great! We ordered the Beef Bulgogi and my wife got the Beef Japchae, both were really good and filled up up. I definitely recommend them, just keep in mind that you have to get drinks from the little place by the stage, few places do sell slushies or lemonade as well.“

“Very easy to order (they have #’s if you cannot pronounce the Korean name) they take cash and card (card you will need to pay inside the grocery store).
I was very happy to see that their entrees come with side dishes! I love radish kimchi so it was a good surprise. The prices are also reasonable for their entrees. Their portions are HUGE, I ordered a #6 and the soup container is full of actual tofu, seafood, etc. not just broth. Very happy, will come back!“

“Very good bento box! I had the beef bulgogi and kiddo had the chicken teriyaki. Everything tastes fresh and well prepared. It was a good value with 2 pieces of nigiri in addition to the typical Cali roll, tempura veggies, soup, salad, rice, veggies, and gyoza. We will be back!“

“THIS location is by far my absolute FAVE location in ATX ??The portions are always perfect and more than worth the money, ALWAYS tasty and flavorful. What makes this place the BEST in the area is that the people behind the creation of your custom bowl do everything with the absolute best attitude. The energy radiating off this team is MAGIC and I absolutely love interacting with them. There is one girl in particular that I absolutely love and adore so much. I wish I knew her name, I’ll ask next time and edit.. but she is THE BEST!!!!“

“Had to come here once I heard it was Korean-Tex-Mex fusion, some of the most flavorful cuisines out there. The food did not disappoint; the kimchi bowls, the caramelized kimchi, the spicy sauces... all are mouth-watering.
The staff are friendly and nice, despite not always being able to speak English. An extra second of patience to communicate makes for a still-smooth service. (Spanish-speaking practice time!)
My only suggestion would to make the inside a bit more comfortable (seating, A/C balance, more space), but that's not a deal-breaker for me. We usually take it to-go because of this.
Overall, I'd recommend this place. We've been here multiple times and won't stop. Thanks for having us!“

“Visited during their happy hour and really enjoyed the selection. Felt like all you can eat sushi and the price wasn’t inflated like many other sushi restaurants but I’d highly going during happy hour to stretch your dollar and tummy further! “Got the Galbi combo with the spicy cold noodles. The cold noodles bowl is a little bit on the sweeter side. I like all of the side dishes, very tasty and well seasoned. The galbi is charred and tastes like high quality meat. I love how affordable it is. Would come back for the bibimbap and the hot pot, I almost drooled when I saw them being served to other customers?“
