Oseyo is a Korean restaurant located in a possibly less-than-desirable neighborhood. The interior is charming with dim lighting, candles, and a cozy atmosphere. However, the food has received mixed reviews.
The menu offers Korean street food at a higher price point than other specialized establishments. A meal for three, including bibimbap, bossam, and Godeungeo Gui, cost approximately $100, which is double the price at other places.
The Japchae with Bulgogi was described as having good noodles, but the bulgogi was dry. The Dolsot Bibimbap with egg was deemed average, and the Mapo Dopu had an off-putting undertone, with tofu that tasted like it was rinsed in sink water. The Ddak Gul, wood-fired chicken thighs, was the best dish, tender and flavorful.
The Dduk Gul, rice cake sticks, were not recommended due to their dryness. The Citrus Cheesecake was unique, made from tofu, and had a tangy, sour kick. However, the dessert was not universally loved.
The service was generally good, with a kind hostess and attentive waitstaff. However, there was some confusion regarding portion sizes. The dumplings and rice noodles in tomato sauce were praised, but the ribs were not tender, and the banchan lacked flavor.
In summary, Oseyo offers a pleasant atmosphere, but the food is overpriced and inconsistent in quality. The service is generally good, but there is room for improvement in the food's taste and value for money.
