About Fresh Heim Steak and Salad 짜장면

Fresh Heim Steak and Salad 짜장면 is a casual mom and pop spot in Austin with cozy, dimly lit vibes. The food suits tastes perfectly, offering real comfort food for the soul. The spicy seafood noodle is amazing, with loads of seafood including a whole squid. The Jajangmyeon, or black bean noodles, is the best—featuring QQ noodles with a perfect chewy bite, generous portions of well-cooked onion, little bits of ground meat, and a side of pickled yellow radish. The sweet and sour pork is very tasty, crispy and flavorful. The Tangsuyuk is a classic comfort staple with great batter, the right amount of sweetness, and perfect thickness. The King Seafood Jjampong has a clean broth and perfect squid texture, though the crab had little meat and the shrimp was not fresh that day. The non spicy jiamppong noodle has too much broth, requiring guests to peel shrimp by hand. The salmon meal with purple rice, salad, and veggies was disappointing—the fish was frozen or overcooked, salty, and tough, with steamed veggies and a salad that was nothing outstanding. The wait can be long but is totally worth it. Service needs improvement; napkins and pickled radish are not provided proactively. Overall, this place is a hidden gem for black bean noodles and Tangsuyuk cravings, but be hesitant about non-Korean offerings.

this is one of our favorite places to eat in Austin!
The food is prepared with loving care. It is gorgeous, even as take-out, as well as delicious. The ingredients are fresh and carefully selected for flavor, health, and visual appeal.
The jjampong was so good coming from someone that doesn’t really like seafood. The tang Su yuk was also yum. The Jjm was ok in comparison but still good
